(A) Valentine Barger was a doctor of medicine.
(B) This family resided in Coshocton Co., OH.
(C) In 1842, Dr. Barger, his brothers in law and a few others, traveled to Farmington, Iowa, where he purchased farm land. A journal of his travels ended apruptly when, upon his return trip to Ohio, the steamboat on which he traveled exploded. Dr. Barger was drowned near Cincinnati.

(E) This family is descended from Putnam Valley Barger family of New York.
