A fairy tale for adults by Les Vierges |
Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens. |
||
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love. Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. |

Welcome
Dear Reader,
A Lily Among Thorns is a tale of a husband and his wife, and their loving relationship. I don't view this novel as a typical "romance," where the plot is primarily concerned with "getting the girl." The guy has gotten the girl, and he is concerned with "getting" (i.e. understanding) the girl. But, along the way, he also starts understanding himself. And most of all, understanding love. The story begins with the newlyweds on the threshold of their new life together... I am pleased with how A Lily Among Thorns turned out, and even I never dreamed that it would end up the way it did! (I guess my subconscious did the writing. And I felt no need to rewrite it. The way it reads, is how it came out of my fingers.) But, I admit that I am trepidatious about sharing this story with anyone, because it is an intensely personal story for me, and I deeply felt every sentence, every word. I wrote it not for the general public, but for myself. Because, I had to. I was compelled by Love to write this, as many poets, writers and artists are compelled by intense feelings to express themselves. I hope it's as good for you, as it was for me! Sincerely,
