Tangerine I have decided to write this tab using open chords, although when it is played you can use either these chords, or barre chords, depending on what you find easier. Chords Used: B5: 2 2 4 4 2 2 G: 3 5 5 3 3 3 Gb: 2 4 4 2 2 2 A: 0 0 2 2 0 0 D: 0 0 0 2 3 2 a chord I will call x: 2 2 2 4 5 2 a chord I will call y: 3 3 5 5 3 3 (x and y are chords I transposed down and have not figured out what they are...when you can play 7 instruments fluently, then you can criticize.) Intro/ verse: For these parts, there are 3 main chords used: the chords are B5, G and Gb, in that order. Listen to the song for the cues, it is quite simple. There is also a chord to end the verses, which is A, and is played before the chorus...again listen to the song. I would type out all the lyrics, but there is no need, since it is really obvious for the chord changes. In this case, the A chord comes before Dave sings "And have you been this far." Break: This part is where the piano really comes in, and there are no vocals. There are 2 chords used here, and throughout the next part that begins with Dave singing "Cause you're a child...". The 2 chords used are D and A, and just switch back and forth. Listen to the song for the changes. Repeat Pre-chorus part and chorus part. Pre Chorus: This is the part where Dave sings "And have you been this far?" The chords used here are x, and G. Listen for the chord changes. Chorus: This part has the most chord changes, but as long as you hear the changes, it is pretty easy. The order is: x, G, y, A, B5, G, y, A. Repeat this twice. Repeat verse part and chorus part again. Ending: I label the ending as being when Dave repeats something along the lines of "On my way..." For this part, play the chord y under these words, and afterwards, the song ends on the B5 chord. It is hard to explain, but as long as you listen to the song, you will be able to figure it out.
