OCTOBER 3, 1965

I recall October 3, 1965 like it was yesterday. My mother and I moved into this old rowhouse in June 1965 after I finished school for the summer in NYC. My father still worked in NYC so we were fixing the place up. I was on the third floor with the radio on and I heard the news that ultra leftwing LBJ had abolished the ethnic quotas. I immediately knew what that would mean even though I was just a teenager. It meant we would get a flood of Latinos coming onto the country. Having lived in NYC since the 40s I saw the flood of Puero Ricans coming into NYC and quickly taking over. But Puerto Rico was part of the United States. But now ALL of the zillions of Latinos from the Reo Grande to Antarctica could swarm in and that is exactly what happened. SUPPOSEDLY it was to end the "BIAS" of immigration being pro-white. But all it did was switch it to the BIAS OF PROXIMITY!!!! Technically a Pole or a Chinese now had the same chance to move to the USA, but ACTUALLY the Latinos could just walk across the border while Poles and Chinese were on the other side of the world AND with an ocean blocking them AND they could not leave Communist 1965 countries either. None of the people who signed that list ever had to suffer from its results but the working class sure has!!! 1-20-06 saturday
