This is what will happen if V3D writers get desperate for NEW and exciting stories...
Fearing the same ol' thing, Voltron writers come up with teaming the VF with cute little animals which can evolve into stronger creatures. A cute little mouse-like creature with a electric tail named Pikachu replaces the AWOL Space Mice as Allura's boon companion. The VF are joined by three young people. Ash is a ten year old Keith wanna-be who some speculate MIGHT be Keith's illegitimate son which might account for Keith's attitude. Misty is a red haired toyboy who immediately establishes a rapport with Princess Allura since she has a lot of water pokemon and Allura flies a water lion! Misty later develops a crush on the hapless Pidge who like most anime (er cgi) males has no clue she has the hotsies for him. Brock joins the VF and instantly falls in love with Princess Allura although his dream to raise and breed Pokemon remain first in his heart. He later watches Hunk's eating habits as a inspiration what NOT to feed Pokemon after several of their Pokemon fall ill and gets the 'winds" after Hunk feeds them some salsa Fritos. This accident also results in Coran not being a visible presence in the Castle of Lions which doesn't make much of a difference anyway, since he only makes cameos anyway.
Lotor gains new allies! Team Rocket! Of course this means that LaFitte and Queepeg are ousted. Under Amalgamus' new "Recycle A Pirate" platform, (This is to counter the growing clamor for Graham's return to head of the Alliance) Quee and LaFitte are recycled into tacky "Vote For Amalgamus - the LOGICAL choice" buttons. James (a quasi Tuxedo Max wanna be) and Jessie (who had long hair Lotor envys) joins Lotor on the Revenge and along with Meowth, screw up their plans quite nicely - which is about par for the course villain wise really. Zarkon, normally behind the scenes feeding Amalgamus orders is too busy running the George W. Bush campaign to bother with these new arrivals.
In the big season ending finale, Voltron and whatever big bad roebeast tangle, and this time Voltron meets his match. However Pikachu comes to the rescue by shocking the crud out of the roebeast. Unfortunately, this shocks poor Voltron and it's pilots, giving them permanent bad hair (for Keith this IS an improvement) But all rejoice because they defeat Doom's forces once again just in time for summer reruns.
