FAQ'S ABOUT TAZ!!!

Taz is the youngest of the Looney Tunes, but he has become one of the most popular in the entire Looney Tunes gallery. He first appeared in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons, the first one being "Devil May Hare" in 1954. He was almost put into the circular file (that's the trash can for those of you that didn't know) when Warner supervisor forbade his director, Bob McKimson, to bring him back after his first appearence. He was only brought back after Jack Warner started to miss the little Devil and asked when he was going to show up again. Selzer had to resend his orders to his director.

When Mel Blanc began to develop a voice for Taz, he had to ad-lib some glottal-guttaral gravely gargle (now known as Taz-speak) becuase no one had ever heard a tasmanian devil before. His voice is now done by Jim Cummings.

Taz has become so popular that he has moved from the Bugs Bunny cartoons and now has his own show titled TAZ-Mania. TAZ-Mania is set in Tasmania (as heard from the Theme Song Lyrics) where Taz spends most of his time spinning, eating and in a lot of pain. There are a total of 120 cartoons in 65 Episodes. Although he only got a few seconds of fame, Taz made his movie debut in the 1996 film
