Tea Leoni was born and raised in New York. Tea's interest in acting was
encouraged by her grandmother, a former Broadway actress. Nicknamed
"Sarah Bernhardt" as a child because of her melodramatic tendencies,
Tea didn't pursue her craft immediately. Instead, she studied anthropology
and psychology at Sarah Lawrence College and then took time off from
school to travel, living in Tokyo, Italy and St. Croix.
