What
it
is
Coffee is a drink, made from coffee beans which are grown.
Simple really. But the fact that it contains caffeine is what
many consider to be the most important part of the coffee
experience. Some people choose the de-caffeinated
version of coffee, which frankly is stupid, it would be like
taking an amphetamine-free version of speed. (Not that I
take, or condone taking drugs. Much.) This page is just
to say "Thank you!" to whoever first decided to get some
of those strange beans, burn them, grind them up and stick
them in hot water, along with your choice of milk, sugar, or
cream. I'm a milk and sugar person, with extra strong coffee.

Types
of
coffee
Espresso: A small but potent coffee served black. Characterised by a flavour and aroma so intense they bite.
The perfect Espresso can be created by forcing water at 9 bar pressure and 88°C through a tightly compact wad
of 8 grams of freshly ground coffee beans, producing 1.7 fluid oz. of coffee in exactly 22 seconds.
Caffe Latte: A long refreshing coffee, made from a single full strength Espresso mixed with a generous amount of steamed
milk. Topped with a small amount of milk foam, to seal in the warmth.
Espresso Con Panna: A straight shot of full bodied Espresso topped with a dollop of real whipped cream. Short, strong
and sweet.
Cappucino: A decadent combination of real Espresso smoothed out with equal quantities of steamed and frothed milk
creating a luxurious cap that can be garnished with chocolate or cinnamon powder.
Mocha: A delicious medley of pure Espresso and real chocolate sauce. Filled with steamed milk and crowned with a swirl
of whipped cream and chocolate powder for a rich indulgent chocolate experience.
Macchiato: A single shot of Espresso capped with a touch of foamed milk to create a delicate first impression.
Ristretto: An extra strong variation of Espresso, using the same amount of coffee grounds but less water. A real pick
me up, which should not be confused with a double Espresso.
Caffe Creme: A velvety smooth coffee, brewed fresh from the bean which results in a thick, moussy head known as the
crema. The crema is sometimes mistaken for cream, but is actually an indication of the freshness of coffee beans.
A happy compromise between the puritanical nature of Espresso and the lavish indulgence of Cappuccino, Caffe Creme is
delicious with or without milk or cream.
Caramel Latte Macchiato: A single Espresso poured slowly into a tall glass of caramel flavoured foamed milk, creating
a beautiful layered effect the looks almost too good to drink.
Banana Cream Breve: An Espresso laced with banana syrup and topped with a generous quantity of foamed milk, also
flavoured with banana. This 'double fun' speciality coffee is completed with a mound of whipped cream and a sprinkle
of nutmeg.
