The first person said, "I'm Denny Crum, and I was the second best
coach in the nation. I won two national championships, and over 20
games a year, and the people of Kentucky think I'm great!!"
God said, "Fine Denny, stand on my right side."
The next person said "I'm Rick Pitino, I was the third best coach in
the nation. I won two SEC championships and a national title. I turned
the program around to a respectful one. The people of Kentucky think I'm great!!"
God said, "Fine Rick, stand on my left side."
The third person stood before God and said, "I'm Bobby Knight. I have won
three national championships, two NIT championships, the Pan American
and Olympic gold medals, eleven Big Ten Championships, named coach of the year 4 times,
named Big 10 coach of the year 6 times, and the youngest coach ever to win 600
games, and the people of Indiana think you are sitting in MY chair!!!!!!!!!!!!"

To my disappointment, I have never been able to attend an actual I.U. game, like I have always wanted to do. I have attended many Midnight Madness scrimmages, and a few Athletes In Action games. But, never a real game. Not that I haven't wanted too, but I.U. tickets a very hard to come by(understandably)! By the time the staff & student body gets the first pick, and season ticket holders that have bought tickets till the end of time(LOL), that doesn't leave very much. Some day my dream is not only to be able to get tickets to attend an I.U. game, but that I get to attend two very special I.U. games. My ultimate fantasy is to be able to attend a I.U. game against Kentucky, and one against Purdue!!!!!!!! Oh....how great that would be!!!!!!!! SOMEDAY..........!!!!!
ASSEMBLY HALL AT IT'S BEST!!
Did you know??
- Assembly Hall is the largest arena in the Big Ten and the largest basketball facility in the state of Indiana. It is also larger than 11 NBA arenas.
- The Hoosiers have ranked in the top 10 in national attendance ever since Assembly Hall opened in 1971-1972.
- Every game Indiana played in the Big Ten was a sellout. The Hoosiers were the only team in the league to sell out every home game in 1996-1997.
- A new state-of-the-art floor was installed during the summer of 1995. The floor is the latest in court science, which includes added shock absorbers. The new floor is also permanent and covers the entire floor area.
- New bleachers and seats were added in 1995-96 as well as a new media row and platforms.
- The home crowd is definitely a factor in the outcome of Indiana's games as the Hoosiers have posted winning streaks of 50 and 35 games over the years.
- The Hoosiers are 319-42 in Assembly Hall since its opening.

I.U. FOOTBALL
Memorial Stadium The Hoosiers will be playing on a "new" field this fall. After the 97 season ended, they started renovating the field. They replaced the AstroTurf with natural grass. For a detailed account of this process click here.
