SCRIBNER, SISSON and HEARTSUP
I am looking for the following surnames in Michigan:
SCRIBNER, SISSON and HEARTSUP.
I have an old photo album (c mid to late 1800's) with
many SCRIBNERs and SISSONs, but the majority of the
photos are not identified. One shows a John SCRIBNER,
age 33 years. One shows Mary M. SCRIBNER and her
husband Thomas SISSON. They are my
great-great-grandparents. Mary was born in New York
in 1836. Thomas was born in Michigan in 1833.
They had children in Michigan in 1854, 1856, and
1860, and in Iowa in 1869, 1870, and 1875.
One photo has the following printed on the back: G. W.
SCRIBNER, artist and proprietor, Boston Gallery of Art,
south side Chicago St., Sturgis, Michigan.
Mary's father was John SCRIBNER (not the same as the
one in the above-mentioned portrait, however). John was
born in NY. Mary's mother was Hanah HEARTSUP. She
too was born in NY. I have never seen the name
HEARTSUP anywhere, so please let me know if you
have ever heard of this surname.

TICE
I have just started doing research on my father's family.
I was adopted and never met my father, but I have found
out that his family was all from St. Joe County MI. The
family names are; TICE, MILLIMAN, HACKETT and
WHIPPLE.
All lived in the Burr Oak area from the early 1840's until
1940's. My fathers name was Darrel TICE and he died
right there in Mendon in Jan 1963, apparent suicide on
M60. I have one small clipping about his death, are there
any possible resources to find out more about his death
in Mendon? His father was Orson TICE born in St.
Joe county 1898, his father was an Orren TICE who also
lived in St. Joe County.
The other side of the family in Burr Oak are the
MILLIMAN's....Lelia (Grandmother), Louis (GGrandfather).

TIMM
I'm looking for any information about John Lewis TIMM born in Three Rivers, St. Joseph Co., MI on 12 Mar 1880. He was my maternal Grandfather. Please email to Nancy Shelley
I have a set of very confused sources submitted by various people
that may connect an ancestor of mine (Sarah Catherine VAN DEUSEN) to a
man from White Pigeon named Cornelius VAN DEUSEN. There is a
substantial history available on the VAN DEUSEN family which includes
Cornelius, but little on his descendants. He is in White Pigeon in
the 1840 Census and appears prior to that in NY. I do not find him in the 1850 Census. Sarah is visible only as Sarah WATROUS (wife of
Phineas WATROUS) in Dallas Co, IA 50 years later. I suspect she was born in 1842.
Any information sources you might have on Cornelius or Sarah would be
greatly appreciated.
