Steve Harris (12/03/57) is Iron Maiden's founder and was born in West
Ham, England. At the age of 15, Steve wanted to play football(Soccer in N.-A.) for his beloved
hometown. Very few were selected and poor young Harris was way to young anyway. He does
now, for fun. After living such a hard moment, Steve, inspired by Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash and
early-Genesis, Steve turned out Bassist, jamming on with his vinyls and his friend. He bought
his first bass at the age of 17. Eventually, Harris joined a band call Gypsy's kiss. However,
the band didn't want their bassist to write songs, so Harris left them, realising HE had to start his own
band to write his own songs. As a result, we have the great band now known world-wide as Iron
Maiden.
