Congratulations!
You've found the home page of The Eccentrix, a local rock and roll band
out of Greater Hartford, Connecticut. We specialize in what we like
to call Neo-Classic Rock. What is Neo-Classic Rock, you ask?
Well, we'd like to think of it as a molding of the style started back in
the 1960s, based in folk, jazz and blues, perpetuated by the likes of Bob
Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Greatful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
Bands have carried this torch forward to the present day, and big name
bands that we'd like to compare to would be: Dave Matthews, Phish, Live,
Bare Naked Ladies, etc. We enjoy playing a good mix of our own tunes
and covers of our favorite bands. Stick around, see the sights, and
learn more about us.
At this time, unfortunately, The Eccentrix are on "permanent hiatus".
We are all away at our various colleges (Cornell University, Lehigh University,
Sacred Heart University, University of Colorado, and University of Connecticut),
and we don't know when all five of us will be home again at the same time
to ever try to resurrect the band. We all enjoyed a great Summer
of 1999 playing gigs around the state of Connecticut, and it will be a
memory none of us will ever forget. Thanks to all the fans, new and
old, who supported us at each and every gig. Presently, we are all
pursuing musical and artistic diversions in other forays, such as University
Choral organizations, University Jazz and Wind
Ensemble groups, Marching Band, Theater and another rock and roll band
(check it out here).
Maybe, someday, the five forces that were the Eccentrix (no, not Earth,
Wind, Fire, Water and Heart for all you Captain Planet fans) will reconnect
on that higher musical plane to produce the energy that was the Eccentrix.
Until then, we'll "meet you down the road, my friend, I hope it won't be
too long..."
