Mason Crater...
And more! The terrific chewy appearing Mason Crater sits at the upper left half of the frame... the central sections shows the shallow form of Posidonus... the dark on in the center of the terminator is Groves... and the twin craters at the bottom are noneother than Atlas and Hercules!! (aaah... success at last! ;)
Archimedes, Autolycus, and Aristillus Craters...
The shallow form of Archimedes takes center stage in this frame, accompanied by dark craters Autolycus and Aristillus. (and good old Mons Piton! Still 8,000 feet... ;)
Copernicus Crater...
Working with the camera again on a different date, I did manage to stumble upon a halfways decent shot of Copernicus. (I'll keep working on it! Promise... ;)
Walking on Copernicus...
I keep stretching the camera to its' limitations... the more I magnify, the less the clarity! But no matter, cuz' it's still a nice shot!
Welcome to "Hell"...
(But "the astronomer" finds it Heaven!)
Crater Hell makes a terrific appearance in this frame as the one just slightly to the upper left of the middle. It's central peak is outstanding!
What you are looking at is a fairly clear shot of Crater Deslandres... And all the great detail around!
Tycho Crater...
As always, Tycho Crater is a rather unusual area when viewed near the shadows! This is also a "mobile" picture... but I include it for now because it does display the crater rather well!
Plato and Goldschmidt...
The view is a bit drawn back, but this serves to highlight Goldschmidt and Philolaus. The Montes Alpes to the left of Plato also show great shadow play!
Along the terminator...
Once again in the Southern Highlands... (what can i say? i just have a "thang" for them highlanders... ;) From Longomontanus to Pitatus, this area of the Moon rocks with craters!
Walking away...
Sometimes I just like to stand back and admire things from a distance...
Like the beautiful Caucasus and Apennine Mountains, Aristoles, Eudoxus, Plato, Archimedes and Eratosthenes...
Crater Wilhelm...
Exquisite shadow play when near the terminator, Crater Wilhem at its' best...
Keplar Crater....
I feel like this at least deserves an "honorable mention" (for now...) because we are talking about Keplar Crater... one of the most over-exposing craters on the Moon!
Phocylides...
Difficult to capture clarity in either the eyepiece, or on camera, Crater Phocylides sits near the edge at the upper left of the frame, counterpointed by Schiller on the center right...
Langrenus Crater...
Once again, distance is of the essence in some shots.
Sitting at the edge of Mare Fecunditatis, beautiful Langrenus Crater looks so peaceful...
Composite...
Because sometimes less... is more!
With the magnification backed off a bit, this splendid scene runs from Deslandres, Thebit and the Straight Wall to Arzachel and Alphonsus i the terminator's shadow... off to the upper right had corner is Bulliadius.
Mare Crisium...
The peaceful area and deep craters around Mare Crisium seem to take rather well to photography!
