When SALAMANDER DRAKE's heralds create your coat of arms, it will consist of the following elements:
- The shield (at center of picture below). This can be many different shapes according to your taste, but the "heater" design (shown) is most typical.
- The helmet (on top of the shield), which is made up of three parts; the helmet itself, the crest (a design or object on top of the helmet) and the mantle (a flowing fabric design attached to the back of the helmet).
- The motto. This is a banner, usually at the base of the shield, where either the family name or a credo can be written.
- Lastly, the supporters. These are two animals or people on either side of the shield who generally appear holding the shield up. Sometimes they will be standing on a base or small patch of ground. Supporters are not always granted, so they are optional.
This is the basic arms package that we offer:
- 1 black and white copy of arms on parchment paper
- 1 copy of blazon and translation on parchment paper
- 2 black and white copies of arms on white paper
- 2 copies of blazon and translation on white paper
Blazon is heraldic language used to describe arms. It can be very difficult to understand, therefore we supply both the blazon and a translation. All copies are printed on 8 1/2 X 11 paper. Extra copies on white paper are available upon request. We do not offer color versions of the arms, but the color scheme is covered in the blazon and translation.
