Ceramic figurines golems that resemble brightly painted clay alligators, turtles, or other lizards. They are rounded and hollow inside, and range from three to fifteen inches tall. Ceramic figurines are often used as guards. They can’t speak, but can understand their creator’s primary language.

Combat
Depending on the form they are crafted in, ceramic figurines have either a bite or a claw attack. Regardless, the physical attack always does the same 1d6-2 damage. They usually fight only at the bidding of their master, and their intelligence gives them cunning.

Spray (Ex): Ceramic figurines are crafted with a small hole in the bottom, so that it won’t explode while being fired. The figurine’s owner may fill the hollow with a potion, oil, acid, or other liquid and then seal the hole. The figurine may spray this liquid up to 10’ away; the effects of the spray (and the save DC) depend on the nature of the liquid. The figurine can hold enough spray for two uses. If the figurine is destroyed before it uses up all its liquid, everyone within 10’ must make a Reflexes check (DC 15) or be splashed by the spray.

Fragile: Ceramic figurines take double damage from bludgeoning weapons (provided that the weapon is of sufficient enchantment to hit them). In addition, the spells shatter and shout instantly destroy them if they fail a Fortitude save.

Construct: Immune to mind-influencing effects, poison, disease, and similar effects. Not subject to critical hits, subdual damage, ability damage, energy drain, or death from massive damage.

Construction
Ceramic figurines must be molded from clay gathered (in the Ravenloft setting) from the banks of Lake Veda in the domain of Sri Raji, and are constructed as any normal clay figure would, requiring the appropriate glazes and kiln. It costs 7,500 gp to construct the figure; 4,000 gp is spent on the figure itself, and the remaining amount on the tools, which can be reused. The liquids inside the figurine must be acquired separately. The figure takes one and a half months to create and requires a successful Craft: Scuplting check (DC 20). The creator must have the Craft Wondrous Items feat and be able to cast arcane spells. The ritual takes one month to complete, drains 300 xp, and requires the spells animate object and raise dead, or polymorph any object and limited wish.
