THE ROSENBERG TRIO
(featuring Stochelo Rosenberg)

A wonderful Gypsy-guitar trio; this link designed by a wonderful human being (Mary Honcoop). Stochelo is an extraordinary guitarist with a 'perfect sound' - his vibrato/technique is amazing. His (their) albums are mixed bags - moments of undeniable genius, mixed with schmaltz that has one shrugging in disbelief! One moment they're playing a blistering "Minor Blues", the next a 'love-boat rendering' of the Beatles "Help"! For me, Stochelo's debut recording ("Seresta") remains the most satisfying, though the others are all worth seeking out for those moments of sublime beauty. Note: on "85 & Still Swinging", they play a set without Grappelli (8 songs), and then one number with him ("Sweet Georgia Brown").
Recent releases include a collaboration with great French guitarist Romane, which is called "Elegance".
