Finally I got it done.

I finally made a trailer hitch for my 1994 Magna. My father-in-law gave me a travel topper for a car and Wal-Mart had these suitably small trailer just right to mount the topper on. I worked up a wiring harness and thru a few extra lights on the trailer for brake lights and there you have it. A travel trailer for the Magna. I probably would have never made the hitch if the topper had not been given to me. Perfect example is the chopper seat that I never did make, going on two years now, I think.

Hope you enjoy, The REDBIRD.

Here you see the basic layout for the trailer-hitch. I started by removing the chrome covers off the struts and then measuring for the strut piece. I then measured how far from the ground my actual ball-hitch would be from the ground (13 inchs), took the measurement for the distace between the two and also took an angle measurement. I can't remember the exact measurements at this time, but I believe the strut was 9.5 inch and the connecting piece was 17inchs. The angle support was around 19 or 21 inch's.
