Head Coach - Rich Catalano

Rich returns for his third year as head coach of the Tigers, after leading the team to a 10 and 5 dual meet record in 1997-98. Coach Catalano graduated from North Allegheny High School where he was a two time W.P.I.A.L. champ in 1987 and 1989 and a P.I.A.A. champ in 1989. In addition, he was a PA Freestyle State Champion and a Greco-Roman State and National Champion. At the University of Iowa he was a varsity starter on three National Championship teams. While there he placed at Freestyle Nationals, Espoir Nationals, Midlands and placed 4th and 2nd at the Olympic Festival. He finished his collegiate wrestling career at the University of Pittsburgh where he was undefeated in dual meets in 1993-94, placed 1st at the E.W.L. Tournament, was voted Outstanding Wrestler, and placed 4th at the N.C.A.A. Tournament. Rich, who is in his third year as head coach at Moon, received his teaching degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Assistant Coach - Tom Simcho

This is Tom's first year coaching wrestling at Moon, but he has coached the Thomas Jefferson Junior High Wrestling Team as well as other sports teams at Burgettstown, Derry and at Moon as head Middle School Soccer Coach for the past two years. Tom was an outstanding wrestler and team captain at Thomas Jefferson.
