ISIS PLANETOLOGY

ISIS' PLANETOLOGY

Since it's sun is .6 Sol's mass, with .3 luminosity, the fact that Isis is only .6 a.u. still results in a year nearly the same length as ours...roughly 360 days. Isis is tilted 30 degrees on its axis, resulting in both hotter summers and colder winters.

A relatively low-g planet, only .78 g, which is because of its small size. It has more density than a comparable area of Earth, but the small size more than compensates for that. There are more metals, more internal heat, and more crystal formations on Isis than Earth. The day is much shorter, 12 hrs 30 minutes "day". There SHOULD be more and higher mountains, but extensive atmosphere has weathered them down to a much flatter, desert-dominated world. Comparitively little water compared to Earth, the Sinbad Sea being the largest water mass. There is no moon. Greenhouse effect, a la Venus, but on a much smaller world, gives it a comparatively breathable atmosphere. Since the atmospheric gradiant drops off slower, due to the lesser gravity, the atmosphere is more extensive than earth, Although a stronger inner core and thus, magnetic field (especially with the faster rotation), yet the weaker sun results in many small aurora borealises, rather than one great one..."shimmers" in the night sky rather than one great curtain. These flickers in the sky are called the Shrouds of Isis. Cyclones and sandstorms are much more frequent than on Earth, due to rapid spin of world, and faster weather changes.
