Mood:   Artistic
Written in the Year of our Lord 3580, March 18th, Monday night.
Location: The Fel arcology on the city Vagnar on the continent of Laufey, near the Ran ocean, on Loki.

Most of the day was spent in conference with Glutheim, as he pumped me for details of my life and the Community Cluster and of the human way of life. I also had to take a lot of boring biological tests, for their exobiologists. So I thought I'd do something different today. I have no camera, because they're not allowed, but I can draw a little. So...

These are two drawings I did of Glutheim. This one is of his face. Notice how like, yet unlike a human he looks. The gray skin is rather seal-like. The eyes look like an insect's compound eyes, but actually they are a cover of the actual eyes, to protect them from acid rain and other irritants...rather like a nicatating membrance over some Earth animals' eyes. The nose is large and horselike, to better filter many irritants out of the air. The air pressure is denser at ground level than Earth-normal, so the ears are smaller than our own, and yet can hear as well. The "hair" is feathery, halfway between real hair and feathers. Most Lokiites' hair sticks out in that rather free and easy manner, looking like a bonfire, with its reddish color. (They don't have different hair colors, although sometimes they have differing shades of red.)

I'm not sure what those markings on his face mean. Most Lokiiites have none. It's an affectation of Glutheim's, but if they mean anything, I haven't been able to find out.

Now this is a more full-figured shot. Note the chitinous links that run down from his wrists to his ankles (unshown, as his feet are unshown). The bright blue coloring is again, an affectation of Glutheim's. Most people's links are gray or a shiny black, almost obsidian. He deliberately had them painted, as some people will paint their fingernails.

Note also the six-fingered hands. In many ways the Lokiite body is remarkably humanoid...but just different enough to be distrubing.
