WHAT'S YOUR NAME, HOW OLD ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO FOR THE BAND?

ANDY: My name is Andy, I'm 13 and I play guitar and I write most of the music and lyrics.
RYAN: My name is Ryan. I play with the bass and the other members.
PAUL: Paul here. I'm 19 and I play drums.
ANDY: And Jesse sings but he's not here. (yet)

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR OTHER BASSIST DHANI? I HEARD HE WAS ACCUSED OF RAPE OR SOMETHING.

ANDY: It's a really long story (See Letter). Things just didn't work out.. We have a new bassist who seriously rocks major ass. He's excellent at not just the bass if you catch my drift.
PAUL: Accusations are easily offered and even more easily accepted as the truth.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE MUSIC STYLE OF DBS?

RYAN: Poo.
ANDY: It's a lot like musak.
PAUL: I would describe our music or style of music as progressive grunge or glory-core.

HOW AND WHEN DID THE BAND FORM?

ANDY: The band formed in high school something like seven years ago becase we wanted to play metal.
PAUL: We didn't have a bassist until '92 but the three of us still jammed starting a few years prior to that.

WHAT DOES D.B.S. STAND FOR? I HAVE A GUESS.. IS IT DELICIOUS BABY SEALS?

ANDY: WOW! You guessed it! Delicious Baby Seals is right!
PAUL: DEH...BUH...SNIH...

I DON'T BELIEVE IT! WHAT LABEL ARE YOU GUYS CURRENTLY ON?

ANDY: We're on Joey Shithead from D.O.A's label, Sudden Death Records.

HOW DID YOU HOOK UP WITH CANADIAN PUNK LEGEND DOA'S LABEL?

ANDY: Joey owns the label. We know him from around town.

HOW MANY ALBUMS HAVE YOU RELEASED AND WHAT ARE THEIR TITLES?

PAUL: Three and one half cd's: Tales From The Crib, If The Music's Loud Enough... I Is For Insignificant, and a split with Anti-Flag from Pittsburgh called North America Sucks.

YOUR NEW ALBUM SOUNDS A LOT DIFFERENT THAN YOUR OLDER ALBUMS. IT IS A LOT ANGRIER AND DIFFERENT STYLE OF LYRIC WRITING, WAS THIS ON PURPOSE?

JESSE: For one I disagree with your comment and I think musically it is quite similar in the sense that we have always written whatever we felt sounded good to us.

TOTAL # OF BAND TATTOOS.

ANDY: Six.

WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON GOD AND AFTERLIFE?

JESSE: My view on god and afterlife is you should keep it to yourself and let other people figure out their own beliefs.
PAUL: I've never seen 'em. Therefore I have no reason to believe or disbelieve.

HOW HAS PUNK MUSIC/LIFESTYLE INFLUENCED THE BAND OR CHANGED YOUR LIFE?

ANDY: The band, I suppose, is completely based on it in a way. So, it's completely influenced me. Personally, it's hard to say whether I'm influenced by it or just share the same beliefs, you know?

I GETCHA.

PAUL: It's not only emptied my bank account but it's also put me deeply in debt.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF STRAIGHT EDGE AND VEGAN KIDS?

ANDY: I am both. Takes one to know one I guess.
PAUL: I think people can be and do whatever they want as long as they don't fuck with me for being and doing whatever I want.. unless it's just completely wrong, which straight edgism and veganism is not.
RYAN: It doesn't play a factor in my life but I support them. Who cares really?

THERE ARE A LOT OF PUNKS OUT THERE WHO ARENT VEGAN OR sXe AND DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND OR RESPECT THE CAUSE. HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN TO THEM THE POINT OF BEING STRAIGHT EDGE AND VEGAN?

PAUL: I don't know why the fuck anyone would go straightedge. Booze up and riot!

BASED ON YOUR TOURING, WHAT ARE SOME DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CANADIAN SHOWS AND AMERICAN SHOWS.

ANDY: I think it's different from town to town. Canada and the States don't make it different.
RYAN: Yeah.
PAUL: In the U.S., there's more of a threat of having a cap bust in your ass.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CANADA JUST GOING ALONG WITH THE USA IN THE ATTACK ON IRAQ?

JESSE: I think any type of military warfare that puts innocent people at risk is stupid. Therefore I think it is stupid for Canada to go along with the U.S.
PAUL: I'm just surprised that Her Majesty's Secret Service hasn't gotten James Bond over there to show Hussein a thing or two.

IF SOMEONE IN THE BAND FARTS, WHO GETS BLAMED?

ANDY: I would blame it on Ryan.
RYAN: Jesse.
PAUL: Whoever did it. We don't deny these kind of things.

WHAT ARE SOME COOL BANDS YOU HAVE MET?

ANDY: All of them.
PAUL: I've enjoyed the company of every one of the bands we've toured with.

FAVOURITE BANDS?

ANDY: Promise Ring, Jawbreaker, Hot Water Music, Braid, The Cure, Jets To Brazil, Joan Of Arc, Lifetime.
PAUL: Schlong, Digger, Descendents, The Queers, No Fraud, NoMeansNo, Wretch Like Me, Piebald, Slayer, old Metallica and Megadeth, Midnight Laserbeam...

FAVOURITE ZINES?

ANDY: Evil Beavers, Fracture, Muddle, Spank.
PAUL: I can't read.

WHAT MUSIC EQUIPMENT DO YOU GUYS USE?

ANDY: We prefer not to promote major corporations.

OK.. SO WHAT ARE THE FUTURE PLANS NOW FOR D.B.S?

ANDY: Recording in December for a new full length.

WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

ANDY: No promises on exactly when. We get ourselves in trouble when we say when and were wrong.
PAUL: We never know for sure until about four to six weeks before it's actually released.

CAN YOU HOOK US UP WITH FREE SHIT?

ANDY: Are you sure you want my feces?
PAUL: Due to my current diareah problem, it won't stay in the envelope. Believe me. I've already tried.

THAT'S PRETTY DISGUSTING. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THOUGHT IS A CRIME WEB-ZINE?

ANDY: Don't know. Don't have a computer.
PAUL: Never heard of it.

ANY LAST THOUGHTS OR QUOTES?

ANDY: Rock 'N' Roll ain't noise pollution.
PAUL: Be good to each other.
