Title

‘She learned to say O,kay’

She learned to say O,kay

She learned to say O,kay
With each and every passing day
When other children laugh and play
locked away within mind and heart
She's learned to say o.kay

Nothing seems the same to her
Happiness has become a blur
She fakes a smile to hide the pain
She's learned to say..okay

She's learned to smile to please her Dad
Yet inside she's lonely and sad
Mom was around so long ago
But time passes and no one knows

The distant look that is in her eyes
Hold promises that she's learned to despise
When all she knew faded so far away
She learned to smile and say..okay

Love that tells her to be brave and strong
Yields feelings of joy that don't stay long
Keep on believing that your dreams will come true
But she lies awake at night with the sadness renewed

Only God can help her to wash the tears away
Then forever and after, her heart will be okay
With all of the hope and joy in the world,
Darkness is waiting to devour
The hearts and minds of so many innocent children.
