Table of Contents Intro.......Numbering System Intro.......Family Ancestry Table......Index Numbering System I borrowed the numbering system used by Mildred Kinsey Adams in her book "Kinsey Klan" . Elijah Kinsey is designated by E. Elijah’s children are designated Ex, where x is their birth order. The next generation is designated Exy, where x is their parents birth order and y is their birth order. This system of numbering continues as subsequent generations are added. NOTE the designation EL is for the descendants of Elisha Kinsey. Kinsey Ancestry The earliest proven ancestor of my family that my father, Kenneth Ray Kinsey, EL3251, was able to trace was Elisha Kinsey, EL, born in 1801 in Georgia. Mrs. Mildred Kinsey Adams, E517, contacted my father in 1978 concerning an Elijah Kinsey, E, born in 1801 in South Carolina. Mrs. Adams researched the history of Georgia and found out that both Elisha and Elijah may Have been born in South Carolina and that the area of South Carolina they were born in became part of Georgia as the border was not set until 1802. It is our belief that Elisha and Elijah were twin brothers born to Benjamin Kinsey born in 1777 and his wife, Martha born in 1783. Benjamin and Martha lived in Hall County, Georgia in 1800. Martha was a widow who had been allotted land, and it is our belief that Benjamin died before the twins were born in 1801. The information of the family of Elisha Kinsey, EL, was contained in a family Bible that belonged to my father’s, Kenneth Ray Kinsey, EL3251, family and was copied from a family Bible that belonged to Elisha Kinsey’s, EL, family. Elisha’s Bible was left to his son, Benjamin Kinsey, EL3, then was left to his son Robert Brownlow Kinsey, EL32, my Great Grandfather. Robert Brownlow Kinsey then left the family Bible to his son, Marion Francis Kinsey, EL321, and he copied the record and sent it to other members of the family. Armed with this information we have good reasons to believe that Benjamin and Martha are our ancestors, the parents of Elisha and Elijah. We do know that Martha traveled from Georgia to Arkansas with the family of Elisha between 1854 and 1858. We know that she lived, died and was buried in Montgomery County, Arkansas, but we are not sure where or when. The information on Elisha Kinsey’s family was researched by Kenneth Ray Kinsey and has been printed in "The Record" a 1975 publication of the Garland County, (Arkansas) Historical society and in the "Kinsey Klan" by Mildred Kinsey Adams. The Information of the family of Elijah Kinsey, E, was contained in the book "Kinsey Klan" by Mildred Kinsey Adams, E517. The information contained in her book was researched by her and is backed up by census records and other sources. It is my intention to update these records and publish them in notebook form, computer database form and on my website; https://members.tripod.com/~timkinsey/index.html . I hope these records will be of use to future generations of Kinseys. Sincerely, Timothy Alan Kinsey, EL32514
