1997 was not the best year on my show record. The horse I was supposed to show, sort of.... well.... died. I grew out of Promise that year and didn't get Holly until we had 3 shows in the season left. But, I will tell you what I won.
Spectrum Youth Benefit Horse Show- August 22-24. 5th place with Holly in Spectrum Special Hunter. Two 2nds, a 3rd, and Reserve Champion with Promise in Children's Hunter Pony. August 23 was the day I bought Holly, August 24 was the day I showed Holly.
Meadow Run Equestrian Center Horse Show- August 31. Two 1sts, one 2nd, one 3rd, one 4th with Holly in Special Hunter Horse and the pleasure classes.
Justintyme Horse Show - September 15. Two 1st, one 2nd, one 3rd, one 5th, and one.... 10th. (She bucked in that class.)
Like I said. I had a little trouble with horses and getting started that
year. Our ring was a swamp hole and Pippa....
width, lopped ears, and general awareness of
all smaller than her, has charmed her way into
our hearts.
