Malcolm W. Adams is the Founder, President & Executive Producer of Totown Communications Co., Ltd. of which Totown Records is the newest division. He resides in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture in the center of the Japanese archipelago. Adams first came to Japan in 1976. In 1981 he served as a TV and radio correspondent for the Tokyo bureau of CBS NEWS. In 1984 he was recruited by Ted Turner to launch the CNN Network series "This Week In Japan" for the worldwide CNN Network from Tokyo. Four years later, Adams established Totown Communications Co., Ltd. with a dream of eventually starting the first Black owned record label in Japan. Thus, the name TOTOWN (for Motown of Tokyo) was born in anticipation of realizing this dream. Adams has had an illustrious career as a TV and Radio News correspondent, TV Producer/Director, Broadcast Journalist and Media Artist for more than thirty years.
