Okay, now, is everyone off the train? Come on, folks, don't dawdle, now; we wouldn't want you left behind.
C'mon up, now, folks, gather 'round.
Now, for those of you who just joined the tour, I'll sum up what we've got so far. This is Subterrainia, as you know, and I am your tour guide. Subterrainia is, as we've seen, quite a beautiful place. There are parks and grand, ancient buildings, there's great little nightspots and, of course, the spanish quarter. Over it all, as you know, is the great silver train, Dark Rail Transit.
The next leg of the tour is a bit different, though. We'll be heading into Bathgate now, and I'll warn you to keep a close watch around you and a hand on your valuables. Those of you who've been here before can head straight for the train and pick your stop, but for God's sake, stick together!!
Now, you folks who're left, I'll give you a little history as we go on.
Bathgate district was abandoned about ten years ago, and it's really reverted, so much so that it's almost primeval in there. But there are places in Bathgate that really must not be missed in a tour of Subterrainia. You'll notice the difference right away. The places we're going to are beautiful, but it takes a special eye to see...
Okay, folks, here's our ride. No, no, the black train, right over there. Now, when we get in, everyone put on the harnesses. This one goes quite a bit faster...
Oh, look... on your right, you'll notice a billboard. City council put that up a while back, in an effort to beautify the neighborhood. They used to put motivational statements and such on it. Then, about three months after they started that, someone showed up one night with an aerosol spray can, and... well, just look. Bathgate denizens won't let anyone touch it. Every once in a while, he comes along and changes it.
I didn't have the voice to let you know. Try as I might have, I knew nothing of words for such feelings. Now you're not here & your still on my mind. Your heat echoes in my head. The rhythmic beating in my ears that soothes the pain away. I never thought I could accept myself feeling this way. Now the hood of the earth is on fire. I can't find where I misplaced you. I lost you oh so long ago. I set my bed alight the other day, Burned it to the ground in eulogy. I think I'll burn down the chapels & smash the bells to dust. Everything is you. Everything is love.
Well, anyway. City Council once put out a Bathgate District Directory, here's a copy... it's not really valid anymore, since there are parts of Bathgate that have fallen to pieces since that was written, but it's still interesting history, I think.
Now, if you'll look up ahead and to your left, you'll see our next stop. They just started rebuilding the Dark Rail Transit stations here, so they're under massive construction. Well, this is our stop. Don't mind the graffiti.
