The Draft

The Draft is held every year at somebody's house. We'll pick the poor slob before draft time. The draft is usually in August as close as possible to the beginning of the season. Once all have gathered, we will determine draft order by numbers picked out of a hat. Draft order proceeds from 1 to 8 in odd rounds and 8 to 1 in even rounds, so number 8 goes twice in a row between rounds 1 and 2. You may trade your draft position to another owner, but the deal must be made at draft time and is open for discussion by the owners. It is the rookie's job the fill in the draft board. Anyone who picks a dead-guy will be ridiculed mercilessly.

Team Structure

Each owner will draft 19 players divided into the following positions:

3 Quarterbacks
6 Running/Full Backs
6 Wide Receiver/Tight Ends
2 Kickers
2 Defenses

Weekly Picks

Each Week points will be accumulated by selecting the following players from their team:

1 Quarterback
2 Runningbacks
2 Wide Receivers
1 Floater (RB or WR)
1 Kicker
1 Defense

On Normal Weeks Picks must be in to the Commissioner by 1:00pm EST Sunday.

During Strange weeks, e.g. Thursday Games, you must get your picks in for players in that game before the game starts. For example, if I have Brett Farve (Which I will of course) and he is playing in a Thursday game, but none of my other players are, Farve is the only pick that must be in before T hursday's game. All my other picks can be in before the start of Sunday's games. Got it? Good!

If you do not get your picks in, the previous week's players will be used. If your pick's are wrong, you get the previous weeks picks. All other issues will be left up to the commissioner's discretion.

Picks can be submitted by E-mail, Voice-Mail or directly to the commissioner if you can reach him.

Weekly Play

Each week you will be play another owner's team in a head to head competition. The winner of this competition will be determined by greatest point total. This win will contribute to your overall season record which will determine the winner of the rotisserie. The weekly prize will be awarded to the owner with the highest number of points for that week.

Replacement Players

If one of your players has no stats, you receive stats for the next player on your roster. The order of players is initially draft order, but can be modified by the team owner at any time during the season. The order can only be changed for games not yet played, you cheating bastards. The standard by which stats are checked will be the USA Today Web Page. If the web page reports your player as having 1 carry for 0 yards, that will be considered stats. If you watched a game and know your guy played the whole game, but USA Today has no stats, you get your next player. If you run out of players for a position, you get no points, and you don’t get to whine about it!

Bye Weeks

If you pick player as a starter who has a bye that week you will be ridiculed for your stupidity and the stats for your next ranked player will be used. If all of the players for a position have a bye the same week you obviously did not pay attention when you were drafting your players and you will get no points for that position that week.

Trades and Acquisitions

At any time after the draft you may trade with other teams or acquire free agents. New players must be part of your roster before game time to count toward the weeks point total. All roster moves must be approved by the commissioner. If a trade is completely outrageous or could upset balance of the game, the commissioner has the right to call for an owner vote to approve the trade. This will only be used in the rarest of circumstances, e.g. I'll Trade you Brett Farve and Chris Carter for Rick Mirer and a Beer.

Franchise Fee

Each owner will submit a franchise fee of $150 at the draft to the commissioner. The commissioner will distribute the money to the winner(s) accordingly. Increasing this fee is not open to discussion
