Shannon Vance

Shannon Vance is a very entrepreneurial woman. The owner of two stores selling antiques and collectibles, Vance is also an interior designer who loves working with clients as a creative outlet. A graduate of Chicago's Columbia School of Arts, Vance has been working in the business for three years. She opened her first Teacups in Time shop in Lakewood in 2001, and in September of this year, she opened another Teacups in Time at 7900 Lorain Road in Cleveland's West Side Antique District.

"I use an eclectic mix of styles when I design for people," Vance explains. "I use furniture in different ways. Sometimes I call it the 'shabby chic' look. I use a lot of neutrals and whites to brighten things up.

"I just did my parents' new house a few months ago," she continues. "It's more industrial with a lot of stainless steel and a little more modern touches."

Vance is looking forward to working with the Platkos on the Wilsons' family room. "I'm excited about this project because the family members work on the job, too. It will be interesting to see how we can combine our ideas to create a new space for them."
