Welcome to my Firefighter Page. I have been a firefighter for 13 years, and am currently Assistant Chief. My dept. is in Exeter, MO. We have 20 volunteers for an area that includes a town of 600 and a 5 mile radius of farms and country homes. We have recently added a First Responder Unit. If you don't know what a First Responder is, they are volunteers trained in basic emergency medical care and are sent out before the paramedics arrive. In small towns such as ours it can take as long as 15 to 20 minutes for an ambulance to get there, and without First Responders some patients might not have a chance. It seems like we are getting more and more EMS calls and less fire calls every year. I really enjoy the firefighting more, but I will do whatever I can to help someone in need.
