Building a Winder

To make a simple winder is easy to do. I use medal braces on the uprights, as the movement back and forth from winding will put stress on the winder. This will help you winder last longer.

A simple winder is illustrated hear. I suggest drilling two holes in the winder, at the arrows. The outside hole is for a pin to keep the winder from slipping out of the hole in the upright. The inside hole is for the wire that you will be winding.

A more stable winder is illustrated hear the bottom bar helps keep the wire tension. Run the wire under the bottom bar then to the winding bar. The second stand shown in top view is for holding the spool of wire. Both winders can be clamped down to a workbench.
