College Hoops 99-2000
Who will dominate college hoops this year? There is no sure team out there like Duke was last year? Could it be anybodys year for a national title?
Too Early to Tell?
It may be too early to tell who will dominate the hardwood this season. As the top 25 ranked teams in the nation get there seasons underway there are many suprises and upsets.

Purdue showed this week in Maui that they will be a force to wrecken with in the Big Ten this year. The Boilermakers led by senior Brian Cardinal proved they can play with the big dogs by knocking off the #5 ranked Florida Gators in the semi-finals of the Maui invatational. Purdue coasted through the tournament until facing the #6 ranked Tar heels of North Carolina. Cota and Forte led the tar heels to a Maui title. The tar heels will be a favorite to win the ACC this season.

As you move to the Big Ten conference you can only think about the expectations of Michigan State. With Matean Cleaves out till the middle of December the spartans lose a major part of there leadership. Tom Izzo and the spartans defeated Providence today without Cleaves.

The expectations for Lon Kruger and the University of Illinois are very high this year. With three McDonalds All-Americans and all five starters returning from last years Big Ten tournament spoilers the illini come out of the box with two wins and a ranking of #15 in the nation. The Illini will test there stuff when they face Duke on Tuesday as part of the ACC / Big Ten Challenge. Illinois will take on Duke in Chicago at the United Center. Wednesday night Michican State will face North Carolina.
