The Gift of Life
At the time of his death,
We were all shattered by his sudden departure.
My mother in her grief found the strength
to give to others what my father
no longer could use.
She gave of my father
the most precious gifts of all
Organs & tissues to others,
so that they may lead better lives.
This hope for others in our sorrow,
seemed to be right.
We shared the love of our father
and in my eyes parts of him shall
live on, enriching others lives, forever.
