Wendy Tedford A Sisters Appeal Donna Stearne

Hi my name is Linda, and Wendy was my sister. At the age of 17 she and her best friend Donna were found in a vacant lot murdered in a way the police described as execution style. At the time I was 25 and now at 49 we still don't know why, or who killed them. So I'm taking this last chance on the internet in the hopes of finding that one person that might have the answer. That one person who, after 24 years will be brave enough to come forward and end the pain and sorrow that has never gone away and to help bring to justice the person or persons responsible for this terrible crime.

My
mother is now 78 years old and has recently suffered a stroke. She now has trouble walking, seeing, speaking and even remembering. One of her nurses was recently going through some of her photos with her as part of her therapy, some of which she remembered and some she wasn't sure of. Then she was shown a picture of Wendy. She paused for a second and then replied in a weak voice, "that's Wendy my daughter, she was murdered", then started to cry. Can you imagine after all these years, the one thing she remembered most strongly was that day. Mom has always said, if only she knew why, it would help, but not knowing hurts the most.

Maybe I should tell you about
Wendy from my families perspective. Two years before her death, our father died of cancer. As if that weren't enough a year later my mother was in a serious car accident in which my moms closest friend was killed and Mom was hospitalized for about six months. During this time Wendy lost interest in school and dropped out. She then went to live and work with our older sister Shirley at Towers, then a major department store, at their head office. Wendy was a shy girl with a good sense of humour and a friendly nature. She was just beginning to rebound from the nightmarish two years previous which had shaken us all. She was making that tough transition from teenager to adulthood. After working about four months, she had decided to find her own place. Wendy was growing up. That was in March 1973. In a short time she found a little basement apartment and was busily buying little things for the move on May 1st. It was nice to see her so excited and happy about everything, it had been a long two years. By April 25th she was ready to move. It was a pay day and Shirleys birthday was the next day. So Wendy and Donna went shopping that evening for a birthday gift.

My sister doesn’t celebrate her birthday anymore, because April 26th at 8:30 in the morning
Wendy and Donna were found by a 15 year old boy on his way to school. Please don't let any more time pass, if you know anything won't you please contact us. We need your help.
