Milky Way What? Part 2

        "What? A cat talking?!" I said from
the hallway. They all seemed to be tense when
I walked in.
        "No the cat wasn't talking. That was
me. I do impressions. Did you like it?"
Serena asked with a nervous giggle. I still
wasn't sure but I accepted it and went on
with the studying.

A few months later.

        "Hey Serena!!" I yelled across the
yard when I saw her. "Can you believe it?
Three weeks until school starts. I think I'm
ready. I have a schedule pretty close to
Amy's. Hey, what classes you taking?" We both
got out our schedule and saw that we had most
of the same classes. Needless to say we  were
ecstatic. Since I had moved here from the US
I had made many friends. There was Serena,
Amy, Mina, Raye, Lita, and Darien. Serena had
become my closest friend of them all. I had a
good connection with them all though, and
knew that I would still be friends with them
for a long time.

Meanwhile at Raye's temple

        "I think she's from the Negaverse.
Notice that when she and Rance came here
trouble started again," Raye said to Lita.
        "Luna said that he felt some type of
energy in her. Maybe she doesn't know it. It
could happen. I mean, we didn't know we had
powers until someone told us. Rance may be
apart of it too. What do you think, Lita?"
asked Amy. Lita thought for a moment.
        "I think that we don't know who or
what she is and just do what Luna said and
keep and eye on her. If she is a scout she
will probably have a guardian cat like Luna
and Artemis. I'm not gonna condemn her or
Rance before we are sure of what's up. Did
you see the other new girl at orientation
yesterday? I felt something in her too. She
might be a scout or enemy. I think we should
do a fire reading." Raye agreed and buzzed
the others.

        "What was that?" I asked as a I heard
a weird beep from Serena's direction.
        "Oh just a beeper. I better see who
it is." Serena turned around and then said it
was her mom and she had to go. I yelled good-
bye while the girl dashed off.
        "She should be in the Olympics with
speed like that." I muttered. I decided to go
to the arcade to kill some time and money. On
the way I saw a sign:

Hey all you beautiful girls. How would you
like to win a free trip to China? Enter
this pageant for FREE and that could happen.
Girls do not have to have escort but one can
sign up.

        'They didn't tell me they signed up
for this.' I thought to my self. I signed up
under contestant; a little depressed I didn't
have an escort. 'I wonder what it took to get
Amy to agree.' I figured that they might be a
Raye's temple so I decided to go there. I was
sure they would all be excited.

        A moment later, on my way to Raye's,
I saw this weird light. "You pesky humans.
Soon I will have all your energy!" yelled the
monster. I screamed and he came at me. In a
moment I was in his grasp. I tried to kick
free but he bashed me in the head. Everything
when black as the pain swept over me.
        A moment later I awoke in the middle
of a fight. A group of five girls and this
guy in a tuxedo were fighting the creature. I
was weak but I lifted my head. These girls
were being beat pretty badly. I  gathered all
my strength and got up. "Stop it you big
bully!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I
saw Rance coming and couldn't let the
creature hurt anyone else. I ran up and
kicked with all my mite. In the background I
heard someone yell, "Sailor Moon NOW!!!" The
gigantic creature picked me up and I heard
Rance yell something  as I fell into
unconsciousness.
        When I awoke I was being carried. I
looked up to see Rance's face. "What
happened?" I asked in a weak voice. He told
me that the scouts had killed the monster and
that I took a beating to get there. "We might
not want to mention this to my mom. She'll go
insane if she even believes that some strange
creature came out and attacked me. How bad do
I look?" I inquired. "The worst is that knot
on your head. We could get you fixed up at
Darien's apartment. It's near here. Just say
you weren't watching where you were going and
ran into a tree." I agreed and we continued
to Darien's apartment.

        "What happened to you?" Darien asked
when he answered the door. "A monster
attacked me. Long story. I need to clean up
before I go home, my mom will go berserks if
she sees me like this." Darien nodded and let
us in. In my opinion he was a little to quick
to believe us. "Are you strong enough or do
you want me to call one of the girls?" Darien asked. "Let me see if I can
stand on my own
two feet and go from there." Rance gently put
me down and I tried to hold myself up. I
failed miserably and ended up back in Rance's
arms. "I think we might want to call someone.
How are we gonna explain me not being able to
walk?" Rance shrugged but Darien said, "Say
it's a sprain. You will probably be fine in a
few days. Let's hope your parents buy that."
        A moment later Serena, who seemed to
appear out of no where, was there with a
change of clothes. She helped me into the
bathroom and got me cleaned up. "You gonna be
all right?" she asked. I assured her I would
be well enough to go shopping with her in a
few days.
        As soon as I looked some what better
and my hair was combed back into my normal
style we joined the guys. I had to use Serena
for support but I was at least able to stay
up some what. Darien offered to drive me home
and I gladly accepted. Rance and Serena came
too just to be on the safe side. On the drive
home I asked Darien about why he believed my
story. "When you live in Tokyo long enough you
start to take stories about monsters seriously."
"Oh." I decided to change subjects because he
looked a little pale.
"Why didn't you guys tell me that you would
be in a pageant?" The guys looked confused but
Serena started to laugh. "Oh we just
signed up today and the guys are gonna be our
escorts, isn't that right guys?" The two guys
groaned at the thought. Serena was very
excited. I told her that I signed up but
didn't have a partner.
        'I hope she'll be all right' Serena
thought as she saw the gash on my arm. 'Not
only does she look a mess she has to be in
the pageant with out an escort. Maybe one of
the others will know someone to hook her up
with.' Serena was deep in thought all the way
to my house where she helped me up to the
door. I tried my best to walk normal so that
my mom wouldn't be too worried.
        "Melanie what happened to you? You
look horrible." my mom said as I limped into
the door. "I was racing Rance and I tripped
and fell. I got a knot on my head and
sprained my ankle. I'll be fine in a few
day's. Darien's wasn't far and I got a
bandage to support it." I explained to my
mother. She excepted that answer and let me
go. I went to bed sore and didn't wake up
until noon the next day.
        Three days after the encounter with
the monster I was shopping with Serena. 'I
hope he shows up,' Serena thought to herself.
After shopping for a few hours  we went to
the food court to get lunch.
        "Hey Serena," came a male voice from
across the court. We were in line to get
pizza when this cute guy came up to us.
"Hey Chase. How are you?" Serena asked. "I'd
like to introduce you to a good friend of
mine. Melanie this is Chase, Chase this is
Melanie," I mumbled a hi and so did he.
Serena could tell that we needed a bit more help,
"Melanie just moved here from the US
and will be going to Crossroads with us." I
smiled and hoped he would pick up the
conversation. I am shy with guys because I
haven't had the best of luck with them.
Fortunately for me he did start talking.
"Melanie, what were your hobbies in the US?
Did you have anything interesting to do?" He
asked me. I soon was wrapped up in a
conversation with Chase.
        An hour later Chase had joined Serena
and me in shopping. "Yeah, Serena and I are
gonna be in a pageant. A bunch of other girls
are too. Darien is of course going to be Serena's
escort, my friend Rance is going to be with Mina,
Chad-Raye, Lita-Ken, and Amy-Greg," Chase was in
shock. "How did you get
Amy to be in it?" he asked. Serena piped in.
"Amy would do anything with Greg, even a
beauty pageant." Chase nodded his head and
asked, "And who are you going to be with at
this pageant?" I felt my face get warm as I
admitted that I didn't have an escort.
"I was going to ask if you would mind being
my escort?"
