ON WITH THE STORY! Title: Together Forever Author: Milkiss E-mail: leeloo@erols.com Prologue : First Encounter Together Forever A five-year-old girl was happily skipping across the playground. Her blond hair was flapping behind. Her hair was rolled up into two balls one on each side of her head, and from each "ball" hung a small curly pigtail. She was wearing a little pink dress that puffed down to her knees. It had white ruffles at the edge of her short, puffy sleeves and at the edge of her dress. Her usual giddiness and absent-mindedness caused her to trip on her on foot. She fell backward onto her bottom with a thump... "..." "WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" "Sheesh! Would ya lower it? You sound worse than a fire engine, spaghetti head!" cried a black haired boy who, to the dumbfounded girl, seemed to have appeared out of thin air. He looked around the same age as her. "Humph! My name is not SPAGHETTI HEAD! It's Serena. S-E-R-E-N-A!" "I think spaghetti head suits you more. No, better yet, "meatball head" sounds better!" the young boy smirked. The boy's piercing blue eyes widened in horror as Serena started to pout and her eyes started to water. "......WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN??!!!!" "Er....um ..." he looked around nervously at the people nearby who were starting to turn and stare. *What do I do?* "...uh... here." he quickly and cautiously plucked out a rose from a nearby rosebush making sure not to prick himself. "Take it and calm down, but be careful", he said, bringing the rose up to her face. Immediately Serena stopped crying, a smile crept up her cute, tear-stained face as she looked at the rose in front of her. It was a beautiful rose that had perfect petals as if it had been arranged and caressed. It had the most enchanting color of solid red. The boy sarcastically wiped an imaginary sweat off his forehead. He hung his head low with a "Whew! That was close!" His midnight black hair was messy with hair covering his eyes. Serena's hand slowly came up to take the rose. She pricked her thumb and let out a little !yelp! With wide crystal blue eyes, she stared at the rose. "I told you to be careful", he smirked. He showed her where she should hold it. "thank you", Serena blushed slightly. "No problem, meatball head, I had to do something or people might think I'm going to kill you!" Before Serena could angrily correct him again, a woman called out, "Darien! Darien! Where are you? It's time to go home now! Darien!." "Well, my mom's calling. Gotta go! Bye, meatball head! See ya around!" he turned around and started to run to his mom. "STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Serena yelled after him. *Hmmmm...so that's his name,...Darien.* She thought as she slowly walked back to her mom. She was sitting by a lake cradling her 1 year-old son, Serena's baby brother, Sammy.
