Room-mates and Soul-mates Part: 6 Rating: G? By: Roo E-mail: roovel@xoommail.com There's only one choice, Serena thought. No fun getting toasted! "Oh... You're going down Malachite!" she said. She raised her hand and yelled, "Moon Prism Power!" Darien gasped as Serena transformed in front of his eyes. "It's her! Serena's Sailor Moon!" There was a big explosion of fire and debris scattered about. "Such a pity," Malachite said. "I'll just tell Beryl it was an accident. She won't mind with all seven crystals." "Hold it!" "Who's that?" "It takes more than a fire ball to get rid of Sailor Moon, you slime master. You should know that after all this time. I am Sailor Moon! Enemy of the Nega-verse, and that means you." Malachite laughed. "It's not you I want. It's your pal, Tuxedo Mask." "Tuxedo Mask? Give me a break he's not here... unless..." she turned around to face Darien. "Liar." Darien grinned, held up a rose and transformed into Tuxedo Mask. "Whola..." "You should get outta here, Sailor Moon. This fight doesn't concern you any more." "Of course it concerns me! Ya kidding?" She ran up to him. "If we stick together, we can beat 'em. Let's do it." "Sailor Moon, I've got to earn those crystals." A blush appeared on her cheeks. "I know, so you can find your princess." "Yeah..." "Tuxedo Mask... Are you still interested in fighting for the rainbow crystals?" Malachite asked. "You know I am; but you've got to give a fair fight and Sailor Moon's safety first." "Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way," Malachite said. "Well, come on then. Let's get it over with," he said, forming a crystal from the ground. "You're on." The crystal floated a few centimetres above the ground. When Malachite widened his eyes, the crystal dashed straight to Tuxedo Mask. "AAHHHHH!" Tuxedo Mask screamed as the crystal made contact with him. "Nnnoooo!!!" Sailor Moon screamed. Tuxedo Mask fell, lying on the floor in pain. "Noo!!!" Sailor Moon screamed, running to Tuxedo Mask and supporting his back. "Tuxedo Mask..." "It's up to you now to get the rainbow crystals..." he said, his hand reaching up. "A-huh," she said with a nod. "I want you to know...I've been on your side...and always will be." His hand fell to his side. "Tuxedo Mask, no...please don't go..." Four scouts and the cats suddenly appeared at the scene and gasped. "That's Tuxedo Mask," Sailor Venus said. "Yeah," Sailor Mars said. "We're too late." "Dear, Darien," Sailor Moon cried. "You can't go, you can't..." One of her tears rolled down her cheek and shined brightly. Meanwhile, Nephrite stood observing the crystals as they glowed brightly and began to spin. "Huh?" he said, watching the crystals fly away. The crystals flew to where Sailor Moon sat, holding Tuxedo Mask, and it converged to one crystal. "The crystals!" Luna said. "Their becoming one... The Imperial Silver Crystal!" The scouts and Malachite stood in awe. "What happens now?" Artemis asked. "Don't know," Luna answered. "Maybe the princess will be revealed." A wand with a shape of a moon at the top appeared and the crystal settled in the middle. Sailor Moon stood up. "It's Sailor Moon!" Venus said. "Serena's the Moon Princess," Mercury said. "Who'd of thought?" Mars said. Sailor Moon transformed into the Moon Princess. "We've finally found her, Artemis." "And about time." Me, Serena a princess? Serena thought. Now this is way past weird. "Darien..." Princess Serena whispered as she kneeled down next to him. A groan escaped his lips. "I've finally found you." She gasped as memories flooded her mind. "You were Prince Darien, of Earth. We lived in a happy place called the Silver Millennium. All was prosperous until Queen Beryl of the Nega-verse invaded our lands. You came to save me... But Beryl wanted you. "My mother, Queen Serenity used the Imperial Silver Crystal and sacrificed her life for our happiness in the future..." She collapsed on top of him, exhausted. "Serena!" the scouts yelled, running to her. Sailor Mars pulled her back onto her lap. "Darien..." Serena said, reaching for him. "Don't go..." "Malachite!" Beryl's icy voice echoed through the gloomy place. "Report back now!" "Yes, my queen." Malachite disappeared. A red sphere was suddenly materialising around Darien. "No!" Serena yelled. "Someone get him!" she cried. Sailor Jupiter and Venus hurried and took hold of him. "I'll be coming back for him, Sailor brats!" Beryl's voice echoed and then vanished with an evil laugh. "Serena!" Mars said, worried as Serena fainted in her arms. Princess Serena transformed into Sailor Moon. "She'll be fine," Mercury said. "But I'm not sure about Darien..." "We better get outta here." One hour and a quarter later, the scouts were still wondering around the dark, gloomy place. "Serena really needs to lose weight," Mars complained as she held an unconscious Sailor Moon on her back. "And how 'bout us?" Sailor Jupiter and Venus said in unison as they held Darien in their arms. "I heard that," Serena groaned as she woke up groggily. "Serena! Are you alright?" Mercury asked. "I think you should know that better than me," Sailor Moon said, standing on her two feet. She gasped as she saw Darien unconscious. "Darien!" She ran to him. "Is he going to be all right? Is he? Is HE?" Mercury looked down. "I'm not sure, Serena... He needs medical attention right away and we can't find a way out..." "No!" Moon screamed. "This can't be happening! It can't!" She sank to her knees, sobbing. "Get a hold of yourself, Sailor Moon!" Raye said, slapping Serena across her face. "We'll find a way out, and we'll save him, okay?" She was a little worried herself. Serena nodded and ignored the pain in her cheek. "Hey guys," Mercury said with her mini-computer in her hands. "I think I've found a way out." "Finally," Mars said, helping Moon up. "Follow me." The scouts followed Mercury and ended at a dead end. "Blast it," Mercury instructed Jupiter as Mars held Darien. "My pleasure," Jupiter said, walking in front. She yelled, "Jupiter Thunder Crash!" The impact of the thunder created an opening in the wall, allowing the rising sun's rays to shine through. Luckily there weren't any people around. "Let's go to the hospital NOW!" Moon said, transforming into Serena. The others transformed into their normal selves. "Right," Amy said. "The sooner the better." A few minutes later, they were in the local hospital's waiting room. "Don't worry, Serena," Raye comforted. "Darien's in good hands now." "Thank you so much, you guys," Serena said, wiping her tears away. "When did you arrive here?" "This morning," replied Amy. "We visited your apartment, but you weren't there. So we just went sight seeing." "And who ever knew there was such thing as a Sailor Venus?!" Lita exclaimed. Serena smiled. "Everyone, meet Mina. Sailor Venus." "Hi!" Mina waved. "This is Amy, Raye and Lita. Mercury, Mars and Jupiter." "It's great to know about you guys," Mina said. "Have you met Artemis?" "Who?" Amy asked. "Luna's boyfriend," Serena replied. Mina chuckled. "Their outside at the moment." "Serena Tsukino?" a doctor asked. Serena stood up. "Is he okay? Is he?" she asked, returning to her worried mood. "I can't say..." the doctor replied sadly. "He might make it, but I don't know. He's lost a lot of blood. If I were you, I'd be prepared..." Tears rolled freely down her cheeks. "Can I give blood?" she asked, barely above a whisper. "We've taken care of that. Don't you worry." "Can I see him?" "I'm afraid not. I'll notify you when you can." "It's okay," Mina comforted her. "Come on, lets go home." "Thank you, doctor," Amy said. "Hold on a sec. How did he exactly get that wound?" "He had a motorcycle accident and smashed into a window," Amy lied easily. "Oh, I see. Well I'll be seeing you tomorrow then. Good day." The doctor walked away. "C'mon," Serena said, "lets go to my apartment." "Nice place," Raye said, looking around Serena and Darien's apartment. "Make yourselves at home, okay?" Serena said. "You can stay here a long as you want." "I should be heading back," Mina said. "I should be going to my classes. Get some sleep, Serena," Mina said. "C'mon, Artemis." "Bye, girls," the small white cat said, following Mina. "Mina's right," Amy said. "You should get some sleep." "No. I have to be here when the doctor calls." "Serena..." Raye warned. "You go to that bed, young lady, or you've got something coming at ya." "No! I'm staying up! I'm not going to sleep until Darien wakes up! I'm staying by the phone even if it takes ten years!" "Go to bed! You're very weak!" "You're not my mum!" "Just let Serena do whatever she likes," Lita said. "Who cares when he wakes up to see a stinky Serena with dark circles under her eyes... He would prefer a much more beautiful princess." Lita's words scared Serena. "On second thoughts, I'll go to bed." She walked away into her room. "Thanks, Lita," Raye said gratefully. "No sweat," she said with a smile. By late-afternoon, Serena woke up to find Raye and Lita gone. "They'll be back later." "Ah!" Serena said, jumping a few feet off the ground. "Don't scare me like that, Luna!" "I'm sorry. How are you feeling?" the small black cat asked. "I'm...okay," Serena replied, sitting on the sofa. "I'm very proud of you, Serena. You've handled the situation well." "Do you think Darien'll make it?" she asked, tears standing in her eyes. For some reason, she couldn't say or here Darien's name without crying. "I'm sure he will, Serena. If you believe in your heart, he will." Serena smiled. "Thanks, Luna." 'Knock, knock,' came a sound on the other side of the door. "Come in!" Serena yelled, quickly wiping her tears away. A tall, slender man with brown hair walked in and closed the door behind him. "Hi, Bradley," she said, pasting on a smile. "Where were you?! You were meant to show up with Darien two hours ago! Remember!" "Darien...?" She started crying again. "Hey, Serena... I'm sorry." Bradley sat next to her and embraced her. She willingly cried into his embrace. "What's the matter?" Bradley asked, rocking the upset girl. "Darien's in hospital... He might not make it..." "He's what?! But how?" "He fell..." She sniffed. "Off his bike... And smashed into a window..." "Oh, no... It'll be okay, really, Serena." He brought her up into a sitting position. "Darien's a tough person. He'll make it through." Bradley wiped away a few tears. "I certainly hope so." A week passed by with no notice from the doctor. Serena wasn't granted permission to see Darien since she wasn't a relative. Early one morning, the phone rang and Serena picked up the phone, barley awake. "Hello?" "Serena Tsukino?" A nurse asked on the other end. "Please come quickly. Mr Chiba won't take any medical treatment or food without seeing you." "He's awake?" Serena asked, the sleepiness gone. "Yes, come please." "I'm on my way." A minute later, Serena was at the hospital. A nurse was waiting for her and she directed Serena to Darien's hospital room. When Serena entered the room, Darien was propped up on a couple of pillows with his eyes half opened. "Hey, Meatball Head." She never knew she would love to hear that despised name. "Darien!" She ran to him and hugged him close. Darien chuckled. "Glad to see me?" "Sure am!" she said, sitting on his lap and facing him. "Are you glad to see me?" "Of course." "Now you take your medicine Mr Chiba, or you won't be seeing me again." "Would that be torturing me or me *and* you?" Serena looked down bashfully. "Me and you." "Ha-ha! Can't live without me, heh?" "Sorry to interrupt," the nurse said, "but Mr Chiba has to take some medical treatment. And he'll be free to go this afternoon." "This afternoon! Yay!" Serena hugged Darien again. "See ya this afternoon!" She got off his lap. "Bye!" "See ya." Finally, afternoon arrived for Serena and she raced to the hospital where she spotted Darien walking out the door. She slowed down until she was walking. "Hi!" "Hello." Serena walked awkwardly beside Darien. Something felt different than the morning; but it felt good. "So... How've you been?" he asked. "Good," she replied. "You?" She looked down as she realised the stupidity of her question. "Stupid question, huh?" "That's okay," he said with a chuckle. He wrapped an arm across her shoulders and pulled her into his embrace. "So, you're my dream princess?" Darien said with a grin. Serena nodded shyly. "Who would have thought? Ah... Beautiful Serena my princess. You're all mine now, you know? So don't go around dating other guys." Serena was startled by his words and looked up. "Do you love me?" Darien stopped walking and Serena turned to face him. "What do you think? You have no idea--" "Not as a princess. As Serena." She was scared to here his answer, but then surprised as he blushed. "I fell in love with you the day you landed that test paper on my head. Of course, I stayed away from you for many reasons..." "Really?" Serena said, her eyes lighting up. "But if you don't love me, I understand." The thought brought a tear to his eye. "What!? Get that silly thought out of your head! Why did you think that?" "Well you haven't said much and, and..." He was confused. Serena found Darien adorable when he was confused, as she had never seen him confused before. She stood on her toes, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. They broke the kiss, gasping for air. The lovers still had their arms around each other. "Wow..." Darien said, dazed. "I love you, Darien," she said with a giggle. "I love you, too." Serena layed her head on his chest as they embrace each other tightly. "Say cheese!" After Mina's voice, there was a flash. The couple turned to see Mina with a camera in her hand. "I'll be going now," Mina said. "Ta-ta!" And off she went running. "I think we'll let her go this time," Darien said. "But she's going to write an article on us!" Serena whined. "So? Everybody needs to know you're taken," he said with a grin. Serena giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. "And I guess everyone needs to know you're taken too." The next morning, the new copies of the editorial were bring issued. Darien sat under a tree, waiting for Serena whilst reading the back cover of the paper. "Hi, Muffin!" Serena said, hugging him and landing a kiss on his cheek. "Hey... Look at this." Serena laughed as she saw a picture of her and Darien in an embrace.
