I was *very* depressed when I wrote this. Rated: PG She Closed Her Eyes. By: Roo. Email: roovel@aol.com I remember the day she closed her eyes. She had beautiful eyes, Serena, my ex-girlfriend. Beautiful bright blue eyes. I stare out to the window, miserably looking at the rainstorm. She hated rainstorms. I hate rainstorms, because it killed her. I can’t seem to forget the day she left me. It was a rainy day with crashing thunder and lightning, and it was quite dangerous to walk under trees. It was the day after I broke up with my girlfriend for a foolish reason. I still loved her, but dreams - no nightmares, were telling me to stay away from her, or she'll die. So I told her I didn't want to see her anymore. I was taking a walk in the rain with no umbrella. I thought the rain would wash away my worries and pain from leaving her. All I could do was think about her, think about how happy I was with her and how unhappy I am without her. She brought pure happiness into my dull life. I found myself on a pier and looked out into the sea. I couldn’t see much because of the storm, but this place brought back fond memories. It was raining harder so I decided to go back to my apartment. On my way home, I heard someone crying nearby. I knew nearly everybody in this small neighbourhood, so I went to see who was crying. I took a few steps forward, and I was about two metres away from her. I didn’t want to frighten her. It was clearly a girl with her head down in her hands murmuring something to herself. "Excuse me miss," I said over the loud lightning. She looked up at me. It was Serena. "Darien!" she shouted, and hugged me. No, no. This was wrong I thought. I pushed her away. Then from that moment, everything went wrong. "CRASH!" went the lightning bolt. It hit a tree branch, which caused the branch to break and hit Serena on the back. She collapsed to the ground. "Serena!" I screamed. I ran to her side and checked her pulse and breathing. Her pulse was slow, and her breathing was very shallow. "D...Darien," she said, choking up blood. "Don’t talk. Just hold on okay!" I said with tears threatening to roll down my face. "D...Don’t forget m...me Darien." "Don’t say that. Please hold on Serena, I pleaded stroking her wet blonde hair. Don’t leave me." "I love you...Darien," she whispered as she closed her eyes. "No...no no!" I said checking her pulse and her breathing again. She was dead. "Serena!" I screamed to the sky, as I held her tight beside me. That was the way my one true love closed her eyes forever. She had suffered from internal bleeding and a broken spine. She said she loved me, but I didn’t have a chance to say I loved her. "I love you, Serena," I whisper in agony, as I see the sun rising over the retirement village grounds. THE END. OHMIGOD!!! Did *I* actually write this?!? I wrote this in my english class, and my teacher wrote as a comment 'depressing'. So e-mail me and write me all the flames I deserve to get. Have a nice day!
