THE MOON KINGDOM:

A thirteen year old girl with two buns in her hair, runs to a man no older 
than eighteen under the moon of Jupiter: Io. She gives him a big bear hug 
and he gives her a fully bloomed red rose. 
They hear something behind them. They turn around and see guards in the 
distance. 
"I have to go My Princess, don't forget me."	
"I won't," she said with tears in her eyes.
"Don't cry, My Princess, be strong."
"I will."
They share a kiss.
She says: I love you Mamo-chan.
He says: And I love you too, Usako.

<I wonder what is wrong with her.> thought a worried Luna while she was 
looking at a struggling Serenity in her bed.
"No...no," mumbled Usagi in her sleep. "DON'T GO!!!"
She sits up in her bed sweat covering her beautiful face. 
"What is the matter Usagi?" asked Luna with a worried expression written on 
her face.
"Luna...nothing's the matter."
"Are you sure?"
"Hai, everything's fine. Good night Luna."
"Good night Princess."

The next morning at the dinning hall...

"Usagi, you are not eating your breakfast, that is not like you. Are you 
feeling okay?" asked Minako with worry.
"I'm fine thank you, Mina," she said looking to her across the table. "I am 
not so hungry today."
"Usagi, not hungry? That's a change," said Rei.
"Be quiet Rei," said Makato. "Can't you see she has got *that* look in her 
eyes."
"Huh? Oh, I am sorry Usagi."
Usagi didn't seem to hear her.

After everyone ate breakfast in an uncomfortable silence, Makato, Ami and 
Mina went to their chambers to finish their packing quickly; as they were 
leaving to Earth late in the afternoon. Rei followed Usagi to the Rose 
Gardens. Rei had realised that she was going there quite often. She walked 
up to Usagi where she was sitting by a tree gazing at a dark pink rose in
her hand. 

"May I sit down?" asked Rei.
"Sure," she said still watching the rose.
"You're thinking about him, aren't you?" asked Rei suddenly. Only the 
scouts, Serena's trusted friends knew about *him*. Her mother didn't know 
that Usagi had fallen in love once.
There was silence for a few seconds then Usagi replies: "Rei, I can't help 
it. Every night I ...I see him, I...I hear..." she said then burst out 
crying. 
"Shh...shh its okay," she said comforting Usagi and holding her like any 
mother would.
"But I can't believe that his dead! He went to that battle in Jupiter and 
never....returned."
"Usagi. He is not dead. He still lives inside of you, in your heart, your 
love will go on until the end of Eternity," she said softly. "He died a hero
defending a planet from evil forces, Usagi. He wouldn't want you crying all 
the time now would he?"
"I know." (Sigh) They sat in a comfortable silence, watching the birds and 
the beautiful nature around them.
"Well you better finish you packing or you  are going to be late for the 
flight," said Usagi cheering up a bit.
"Yeah I guess so." She stood up and did a little stretch, smiled at Usagi 
and turned to leave.
"Rei?" 
She turned around.
"Thank you," said Usagi gratefully.
"Your welcome," she smiled and turned towards the palace.
