Learn To Trust:  A Tale of the Future

	"Wake up, Sweetheart.  It's a new day,"  King Endymion whispered 
softly as he kneeled by the bedside.
	Neo-Queen Serenity stirred, but did not wake to his gentle touch.
	Endymion moved the soft silk covers from her shoulders down to her 
waist, revealing her naked skin, and rubbed her shoulder.
	"Usako… it's time to wake,"  He tried again, using their old pet 
name.
	Serenity slowly opened her eyes, and smiled at the first thing her 
soft blue eyes gazed upon:  Endymion.
	"I haven't heard that name in so long, Mamo-chan,"  Serenity said, 
smiling, with a groggy voice.
	Endymion smiled and caressed her soft cheek, looking into her eyes.
	"You are so beautiful, darling."
	Serenity smiled to the compliment, and sat up just enough to reach
Endymion's lips.  
	"You know just how to charm me, Endy."
	Endymion quickly embraced her with his lips, kissing her with the
undying passion that had driven him the night before.  As he released,
he looked deep into her eyes.  
	"Time to get up for the new day.  Chibi-Usa awaits for your gentle 
nurturing,"  He said sweetly, finally snapping out of his loving trance.
	"Can't her daddy entertain her, just for this morning?"  
	"Chibi-Usa wants her mommy."
	"If a two year old is this bad, I sure can't wait until she turns 
three."  Serenity said sarcastically before she yawned.
	Before another word could be exchanged, the door to their bedroom 
burst open.  Startled by the sudden intrusion, Serenity grabbed the silk 
sheets and covered her nakedness, embarrassed.
	"Mommie, Mommie, Mommie!"  Little Chibi-Usa yelled cheerfully.
	"Usagi Small-Lady Chiba, do not burst into our bedroom without 
knocking."  Endymion said sternly.
	"Don't burst into our Bedroom, period."  Serenity added.
	"Hai, Father."  Chibi-Usa said sadly, displaying a 'puppy face'.
	"Small Lady."  A voice coming from the doorway said sternly.
	"Yes, Puu."  Chibi-Usa said, expecting trouble.
	"You did not listen to me, and you came and interrupted your Mother 
and Father.  I am not pleased,"  Setsuna disciplined.
	Chibi-Usa began to cry because of Setsuna and her parent's 
discipline.
	"Chibi-Usa, hush."  Serenity said, pointing her finger at Chibi-Usa.
	"Hai, Mother."  Sniffed Chibi-Usa.
	"Anyway, your highness,"  Setsuna sighed,  "It is time for your 
breakfast."
	"Alright, Setsuna.  We will be down in a few minutes."  Endymion 
answered.
	Setsuna left the room graciously, yet Chibi-Usa hopped onto the bed 
beside her mother.
	"Um…"  Serenity hesitated.
	"Sweetie, it's time to leave.  Mommie has to get dressed."  Endymion 
said as he picked up his little daughter by the waist, throwing her over
his shoulders affectionately.  Chibi-Usa giggled wildly as he carried her
out of the room, and shut the door behind him.
	Serenity laughed as she rose to get dressed.

	"Happy Birthday to you,
	 Happy Birthday to you,
	 Happy Birthday Chibi-Usa,
	 Happy Birthday to you!"  
	
	Surrounding Chibi-Usa, the group of friends and family ended the song 
as Chibi-Usa blew out the three candles embedded in the white frosting.
	As the fire extinguished to Chibi-Usa's blow, everyone clapped and 
smiled at the new three-year-old.

	The party was a success; everyone had a wonderful time.  Chibi-Usa 
received many gifts to her liking, especially the Pony ride her Mom and 
Dad gave her.



	"Happy Birthday, Small Lady!"  Sailor Mars said as the four senshi 
left.
	"Thank you, Rei!"
	"Happy Birthday, Chibi-Usa!"  Queen Serenity Senior said sweetly as
she gave her a hug.
	"Thank you, Grandma!  Ja ne!"


	"Chibi-Usa, darling, do you know where your daddy is?"  Serenity 
asked after most of the guests left.
	"He isn't with you, Mommie?  I don't know."  Chibi-Usa said quickly, 
returning her attention to her new doll.

	"Good Night, sweetheart.  My little three-year-old."  Neo-Queen 
Serenity whispered to her daughter as she tucked her in.
	All evening Endymion was no where to be found.  Serenity had given 
up looking for him an hour ago.
	"Mommy, where is Daddy?  He always tucks me in with you."  Chibi-Usa
said as she yawned.
	"Well, I don't know.  I'm starting to get worried.  Maybe he just 
went for one of his walks."
	"Okay, Mommie.  Goodnight."  Chibi-Usa whispered to her mother just 
before drifting off to sleep.
	"Goodnight, dearest."


	Just as Neo-Queen Serenity walked out of Chibi-Usa's nursery, 
General Kunzite walked passed her.
	"General Kunzite, may I have a word with you?"  Serenity asked,
getting his attention.
	"Of course, your highness."  General Kunzite said curiously.
	"Do you know where Endymion is?  I've been searching for him all 
evening."  
	"As a matter of fact, your highness, I do.  I saw him sitting on 
the rocks above the pond in the east gardens."
	"I should have known," Serenity laughed, "Thank you, Kunzite." 
	"You're very welcome, Neo-Queen Serenity.  I think he needs some 
company now anyway, and you would be the best for that."
	Neo-Queen Serenity smiled as General Kunzite began to walk away.
But as Serenity turned to walk away herself, Kunzite stopped her with a
question.
	"Oh, Neo-Queen Serenity…"
	"Hai?"  She said curiously.
	"I don't mean to bring up such a touchy topic, but I am beginning
to be worried about that rumor of Endymion and Setsuna having an affair…
I've heard it more than three times now.."
	"The rumors are absolutely false, Kunzite!  I trust Endymion with
my life, let alone being faithful.  Do not worry, they will blow over soon." 

	"Aringato, your highness."

	Soft trickling of water from the waterfall soothed King Endymion, 
calming his mind.  The garden lake was one of his favorite 
places to go, whenever he had to think or relax.  Something about the 
fresh air calmed his senses and nerves.

	This night, Endymion did not know why he came to the pond.  He was 
very happy, for it was his daughters third birthday.  Nothing he could 
think of was troubling him.  

	The soft call of his wife's voice brought more joy than he would 
expect as it echoed from the rocks he sat upon.

	"Endymion, is that you?" 
	Endymion sighed, and closed his eyes contently.  
	"Yes, darling, it's me."
	"There you are!  I've been searching for you all evening."
	"Oh, I'm sorry dear, I should have told you where I was going."
	"Nonsense, Endy.  It's quite alright."
	Endymion smiled as Serenity climbed up the rocks to sit next to 
him.  Times like these when it was just the two of them under the 
moonlight is what he dearly loved.
	"I just tucked Chibi-Usa in.  She missed you being there with me."
	"She's a big girl now, she doesn’t need me there every time."
	Serenity laughed lightly.

	Endymion suddenly got a feeling of excitement.  He wanted to do 
something out of the ordinary… exciting… daring…  What was there to 
do?
	Endymion stood up.  
	"I have an idea, sweetheart."
	"Mmmmm?"
	Endymion stood at the edge of the rocks, ten feet above the lake
water, and reached his hand towards her.
	"What are you doing, Endy?"  Serenity said curiously.

	"Come on, Usako.  Don't you trust me?"
	"Trust _you_?"
	Endymion laughed.
	"Let me try this again.  Do you trust me?"
	"Darling, with my heart, soul, and life."
	"Then take my hand."

	Serenity stood and took Endymions hand, curiously.
	To give Serenity a rush of surprise, Endymion scooped her up in his 
arms quickly, and sprinted off of the rock cliff.
	"ENDY!!!!"  Serenity screamed as they fell to the cool water below 
them, with a large splash.

	When they both surfaced, Endymion laughed and grabbed Serenity into 
his arms.
	As they reached shallow enough water to stand, Endymion grabbed his 
wet wife and kissed her deeply on the lips.
	Serenity laughed.  
	"Maybe I shouldn't have trusted you."
	"If you didn't trust me, where would you be today?"
	Serenity decided to act quickly.
	Before Endymion could speak another word, she launched herself at
him,	and used all of her weight to force him underwater, dunking him.
	Endymion surfaced to a laughing Serenity.
	"That's what you get.  I trust you now."  Serenity said with a
snicker.
	"Looks like I'm going to have to get you back for that."  Endymion
said, dunking Serenity.
	Serenity surfaced herself, but instead of dunking Endymion back,
Serenity kissed him.  They kissed with the passion of a newly wed couple, 
not stopping for air.

	"Halt!"  A male voice yelled from behind them.
	The wet couple broke from each others embrace, and turned around to 
see five of the palace guards, armed.
	"Your highness!"  The guard said, surprised, "We heard a splash,
and..."  
	"Back to your post."  Endymion said, cutting him off, and involving
himself back into the kiss.
	"Yes sir."  All five said in unison, hiding their laughter.

	At the breakfast table the next morning, Serenity and Endymion seemed
a little more happy than usual.  Everyone suspected practically the same
thing.
	"Last night was absolutely wonderful darling."  Serenity whispered
to Endymion as they ate.
	Endymion chuckled.  "As were you, sweetheart."
	"I missed those days before Chibi-Usa.  Now that we have her to raise
we don't get to be together as often."  Serenity whispered back.  "Last
night was a night I'll never forget."
	"Mommy, Daddy, what are you whispering about?"  Chibi-Usa said
loudly.
	Serenity and Endymion blushed.
	Setsuna hushed Chibi-Usa, promising to explain later.

	"If you will excuse me dear,"  Neo-Queen Serenity said.  "I need to
use the restroom."
	Serenity left the table, and Chibi-Usa took the seat next to 
Endymion, giggling.

	Later that afternoon, Serenity was walking down the west wing hall,
near her bedroom.  After lunch earlier that day, she had lost track of 
Endymion.

	Hoping he'd be there, Neo-Queen Serenity walked into her bedroom.  
Inside, the giant window was open, and her curtains flowed freely against
the chilly breeze flowing in.   As Serenity looked beside the window at
the bed, before her laid a scene that she never could have imagined
happening.  Twenty Seven years of marriage.  True love it has been for
century after century.  But this?  How was she to take it?  No, it 
must be an illusion.  This could not happen…
