New Book Focuses on Keeping Native American Heritage Alive

CONCORD, NC - December 14, 2000

Author Brian Voncannon has recently published his fourth book entitled, Cherokee Blue Eyes: Keeping the Heritage Alive ISBN: 0-595-15774-2. This book focuses on those who were told that they had Native American blood in their past, but grew up away from their tribe's domain. Focusing on reviving that heritage, the author covers many positive and negative aspects of such an endeavor from his own view points. Anyone who has a genuine pride in their treasured family stories will appreciate this work. This book is now available from the publisher. The book's promotional site is located at http://www.cherokeeblueeyes.com.

The author was born and raised in North Carolina where he is employed as a full time law enforcement officer. Outside of his professional life, Brian spends time involved in writing, genealogy, native american craft work, and working out. He and his mother are enrolled members of the Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama. Brian Voncannon recently published Living Behind the Shield ISBN 0-595-10048-1, which was featured on a North/South Carolina television show, North Carolina Now and in Police Magazine.
