Greetings! And welcome to the new and improved Vega website. We've streched our HTML abilities to their limits to bring you this web masterpiece. I know it took a long time, but it's been worth it. This site is way better looking than the old one and the new, shorter URL is very convienent. We've made a switch to Tripod despite our half year on Geocities. Those URL's are just too long. Don't worry about us though, we're adjusting to Tripod very well.

Now, I'm sure you can see that we've changed the site around quite a bit. Things aren't where they used to be. So here's a brief overview so you can find what you want.: Members: A bio of every member and some information on some exceptionally cool people who help us out.; Stories: A couple of stories written by Vega and about Vega. It will also have old news and updates as soon as there are any.; Pictures: There's no trick to this one. It's all pictures and nothing else.; Awards: A list of the awards this page has won. Plus the "You're a Star" award that you can win by filling out the form on the page.; Contact Us: Links for E-mail, guestbook, and a survey.; Links: Links to other pages, plus banners to link to Vega.

Something really cool has just been added to the page as of 30 seconds ago. Vega now has its own chat room. Click here to chat with Vega! Of course you need a JAVA capable browser like Netscape or IE. We can't promise that people will be in there all the time, but Megan says she'll try to be there around 3:30 PM EST (she sometimes goes by the name of Starla). Please somebody try this out, because it would be cool to get to know some of you!

In some recent Vega news, we're to be featured on a Smashing Pumpkins tribute tape called "In a dream we are connected: songs from the Siamese Dreamers". It's going to be part of a tribute presented to the Smashing Pumpkins by members of the internet mailing list called the Siamese Dreamers (email LuvsSP@aol.com to join). We plan to cover Farewell and Goodnight and Luna and maybe Crush, Thirty-Three, or Drown if we get around to it. The deadline for entries is February 15th and the tapes will probably be $5 when they're done, but that won't be for a while.

We're curently launching a plan to get a song played on our local radio station (99.9 the BUZZ). Don't hold your breath though, because you'll probably pass out. First we need a worthy song and a good recording, but the hard part (getting it on CD) has been pretty much solved.

The practice we were going to have this Friday was interrupted by a freak ice storm, a 3 day power loss, and a traveling ban. If you've paid attention to any sort of news, you've probably heard about it. It was worse up in Montreal, but we had our share of darkness. We got a 5 day weekend from school, though, so all was not lost.

That's the news for now. You can find previous updates in the stories section since there doesn't seem to be any other place for them.

It all started on a long, boring bus ride. Two girls talking about guitars and bass riffs when they come up with an idea; we should start a band. So here we are. Well, it wasn't quite that simple. It took us a long time to get organized but, contrary to popular belief, we actualy are a band and we really do play. We're mostly a cover band and all the playing we've done has been recorded at Star-Bright Studios (aka Megan's bedroom) in upstate New York. We're currently drum-less. The orininal plan was for Meagan to be the drummer, which might have worked, except we could find the money to get a drumset. That's okay though, we get along fine without them. In conclusion: We're Vega, like it or not.
