Fighting as Liu Kang

Using and mastering Liu Kang's Flying Kick is essential to defeating your opponent because it's incredibly fast.

Always keep LK charged for a quick release on an opponent. Then run in and execute Combo #2. If your opponent jumps over you, release LK as soon as he/ she is on the opposite side of you.

Finally, If your opponent throws a projectile, counter it with a Low Fireball. Works every time.

Fighting Against Liu Kang

When fighting against Liu Kang, keep in mind that his Flying Kick is hard to avoid. If you anticipate the move, block it and counter with an uppercut or combo.

If you anticipate his Fireball, stay out of the air because his airborne attacks can be brutal. It's best to run toward him, but be ready to block his Bicycle Kick. If you get to him, quickly execute Combo #2.

Liu Kang's Weaknesses

Liu Kang has quite a lag time after throwing a projectile, leaving him open for a jump kick to the face. Also if his Flying Kick or Bicycle Kick is blocked, it leaves him to the mercy of his opponent.
