Sonya

Sonya disappears in the first tournament, but is later rescued by Jax. After returning to Earth, she and Jax try to warn the U.S government of the looming Outworld menace. Lacking proof, they watch helplessly as Shao Kahn begins his invasion.

Fighting as Sonya

When playing as Sonya, remember her Leg Grab. You can run towards an opponent and quickly execute this move, then counter it with Combo #3. If your opponent gets too close or tries to sweep, counter with this very successful move.

If your opponent tries to jump at you, execute Sonya's Rising Leg Kick. If he/she jumps away or toward you, execute Sonya's Flying Punch.

Fighting Against Sonya

If Sonya throws her rings, counter her with jump kick then a large combo. Try to avoid jumping at her when she does not execute her Ring Toss. This will often result in getting hit with her Flying Punch.

Sonya's Weaknesses

Sonya is left open to any type of damage if her Leg Grab is blocked. She is also vernarable if her Rising Leg Kick is anticipated. She can easily be uppercuted by her opponent. Try to use Sonya's Ring Toss when out of your opponents jumping range. If too close, she will receive a swift jump kick to the face.

Ending

Sonya defeats her arch-enemy Kano high atop a skyscraper near Shao Kahn's fortress. She then comes face to face with the emperor himself. In an incredible display of courage, Sonya wins. When the world returns to its normal state, Sonya has no trouble convincing her superiors to form the Outerworld Investigation Agency, devoted to protecting the Earth against possible future invasions from other realms.
