At the Game Select Screen choose Team Play. Pick Team Edit at the at the next screen. At the Fighter Select Screen press and hold START and press DOWN + Triangle, LEFT + X, RIGHT + Square, and lastly press UP + Circle. You should hear a sound if you entered it correctly. You will now be able to pick the same player up to three times in team play. This works in both in two and in one player mode.
