Message For April 1998

"From The Cross To Glory"


This month we celebrate two tremendously significant events in the life of Christ and in our lives as Christians.
"Good Friday", the actual day is not important but the event is. Jesus went to the cross and shed his blood for the salvation of all men who would confess Him as their Lord and Savior.
The other significant event is "Easter Sunday", the day which our Lord defeated death and sin and rose bodily from the grave, Jesus was later transformed to a glorified body and rose to be with the Father.

What does the bible say about the events leading up to the death of Jesus? It tells us that Jesus was well aware of thr events that were to take place. God had a plan and Jesus was the plan for the salvation of mankind.

Mark 10:32-34 (NIV) "They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the deciples were astonished, while those that followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to Him. "We are going up to Jerusalem,"He said,"and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will mock Him and spit on Him, flog Him and kill Him. Three days later He will rise."

Luke 24:50-53, "When He had led them out to the vacinity of Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them, He left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshipped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually in the temple, praising God."


A Prayer For You!

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we come to you in prayer, in the Name of Jesus, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Dear Lord we pray especially for our visitor, that they, as children of God will come into a greater awareness of your peace, blessing and prosperity. That they may through your Word be strengthened and restored from all sickness, suffering or sorrow. Open doors of emplotyment for those seeking work to meet the needs of their families. Strengthen those whose hearts are troubled or in grave pain due to circumstances surrounding their lives. Help them not to look at the bigness of their circumstances but to the bigness of our God. We pray for God's healing touch upon their lives. God's arms are there for you to lean on, take comfort in His everlasting love. Remember Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. May God's everlasting love flood your heart with joy and thanksgiving, for He is the God who sustains us. All this we pray in the name of Jesus giving all the glory to God always. Amen!
