VLF RESEARCH

Picture shows the type of receiver i use

It has a 5inch long magnetic field antenna probe with about 5 metres of cable from the receiver for orientating and positioning well away from any houshold 50/60hz electricity/mains supply hum, I find most natural earth signals can be best heard between dusk & dawn and there seems to be most activity in high weather pressures.

The rate of chirps, tweeks, pops & fizzes is from 1 to over 1000 per hour, I usually record the events by hand on a paper chart calibrated in seconds.
