Uncovering Ilia II, the Archbishop of Georgia

Although it may sound incredible or even shock most of Georgians, we've got to break the news: Ilia II, the Archbishop of Georgia, has been acting as an undercover agent of the KGB (Committee for the State Security - repressive agency of the Soviet regime) since January 1962. Our statement is grounded on reliable evidence, such as a copy of the KGB personnel file on Irakli Shiolashvili (secular name of the Archbishop) under the nickname of "Iverieli".

The file provides the following data:

Last name: Shiolashvili; First name: Irakli; Patronymic: Georgievich; Date of birth: 1933; Place of birth: Orjonikidze; Address: Tbilisi...; Place of work: Metropolit of Georgian Church; Party membership: None; Nationality: Georgian; Citizenship: USSR; Education: Academic degree in religion; Nickname: "Iverieli"; File No: 13565; Category: Agent; Date of recruitment: 10.01.1962; Recruited by: Imnaishvili; Department: Dept. 5 of Georgian KGB;

The file has been registered by Colonel Guniava of the Dept. 5 of Georgian KGB.

We believe that the monk, who has been collaborating with the KGB in achieving its villainous goals, has no moral right to hold the position of the Archbishop of Georgia. Therefore we're launching the campaign to remove Ilia II from his office. Let your voices to be heard!!

Fax or send a letter to the Patriarchate of Georgia and demand Ilia II to be removed from his office. The address is as follows:

1 Mephe Erekles St., Tbilisi 380005, Georgia Fax: (995-32) 98-71-14

E-mail the copy of the letter to volunteer@mrpost.com
