Vidya Prasarak Mandal's , the pioneer institute of Education in Thane town has started the LAW COLLEGE in june 1972.

                        The College is situated on the campus at Bunder Road, Chendani, near Thane Railway Station, Thane.  The College has its own building since 1992/93.

                        The College is singulary fortunate in haing a Board of Advisors of eminent jurists with Honorable Mr.Justice Y.V.Chandrachud Ex-chief Justice of India as Chairman, who graced the College by his visit on 11th June 1979 and expressed appreciation of the progress made by the College since its inception.

                        Highly qualified and experienced staff has been appointed for the guidance of the students.  The Library has been equipped with standard text books, reference books and journals.

                        The College offers full guidance and help to the Backward class students to secure various State and Central Government Scholarships.  Freeships and also helps other eligible students to get the benefit of E.B.C.Concession, Primary Teacher's Ward Concession, Freedom fighter's Wards Scholarship, State government Servant's Wards Commission, Ex-Servicemen and Service Personnal Concession.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION.

                        Candidates for the L.L.B. (General) / L.L.B. degree must have passed the Bachelor's degree examination of this University in any faculty or a corresponding degree examination of any other University recognised as equivalent thereto Provided however, that the candidates passing the M.B., B.S. or B.A.M.S. or B.H.M.S. or B.U.M.S. examination must have been declared to have qualified for the M.B.B.S. degree or B.A.M.S. or B.H.M.S. or B.U.M.S. degree of their respective Universities.  Candidates for the LL.B. (General) degree will be required to pass two examinations, the first to be called 'First examination for the degrees of LL.B (General) / LL.B.' and the second to be called 'Second examination for the degrees of LL.B. (General) / LL.B.' Candidates for the LL.B. degree will be required to pass the aforesaid two examinations and the third to be called 'Third examination for the degree of LL.B.'
