Burn
1 : an act, process, instance, or result of burning:
a : injury or damage resulting from exposure
to fire, heat, caustics, electricity, or certain radiations
b : a burned area
Burn extent
burn extent is based on that percentage of Body
Surface Area (BSA) which clinically has 2nd and 3rd
degree burn, but does not include areas of 1st degree burn.

An anti-rejection drug given to patients who receive
transplants of one nature or another.
Collagen
an insoluble fibrous protein of vertebrates that is the
chief constituent of the fibrils of connective tissue

bones and yields gelatin and glue on prolonged heating
with water

Debridement
the surgical removal of lacerated, devitalized,
burned, or contaminated tissue
Dermabrader
A slender implement with a burred, revolving,
gumdrop-shaped head used to cut away burned flesh.
Dermatome
A device resembling an electric cheese slicer
used to remove skin from donor sites to be grafted on
burn areas.
Dermis
the sensitive vascular inner mesodermic layer of the skin

Empathy
the action of understanding, being aware of, being
