Hi, my name is Ted and I'm originally from Manchester, New Hampshire, but in my heart I will always be a Bostonian. I'm 27 and vastly underemployed (as are many in my generation) but still staying sane. Below you will find links to sites in or about Boston, the greatest city in the world! GREAT BOSTON SITES! GENERAL Here is the official City of Boston site - actually this is a surprisingly good site...make sure you walk the virtual Freedom Trail; the pictures are great! Although it is a bit plain, this history of Boston site is packed with info. In case you get lost on your journey, here's a map of the city TRANSPORTATION If you are flying, you will be arriving at Logan International Airport Once you are here, don't try to drive in Boston. For an out-of-towner it can be quite scary. Instead, walk or take The MBTA (called the "T" by locals)- Boston's Public Transportation System (or try this "official" MBTA site). If you feel you MUST drive, at least check out the traffic situation at SmarTraveler. The traffic reports may scare you into walking. EDUCATION Boston is one of the most college oriented towns in the world. I had a great time there while I was a student (maybe TOO good a time!). MEDIA WBCN - The Absolute Best Radio Station Anywhere WFNX - Where you tune your radio when WBCN is playing something that sucks. NBC TV's "Boston Common"starring Boston's own Anthony Clark. (O.K., I know he isn't technically from Boston; he couldn't be with that accent. However, he did go to college here, and the show is set here, so...) The Boston Phoenix Boston's coolest weekly newspaper The Boston Globe On-line Boston Magazine Maybe I'll get in the next "Best of Boston" issue! What to do tonight... This Boston Restaurant Guide is VERY cool! Just pick options from a list (price, location, type of food...) and it tells you where to go eat! You don't even have to think! Cybersmith cafe don't know what it is? Well then, check it out! Boston Area Movie Listings Newbury St. is a somewhat pricey area to shop, but a great place to people-watch.
